I'd imagine it'll be something along the lines of Dragonica online (if you've played that) but everyone is an archer of some sort. Could be fun.

Wow.... First let me say that I am a megaman fanboy, I have played (almost) EVERY game in the series decided not to play the legend games , Considering the game takes place during the maverick wars (based on promo art)... All I hope is that the game is good, I have tried to play various MMOs and because of the grinding none of them worked for me. I hope that this game at the vary least makes the grinding fun. If this doesn't work I going to be pissed. Next MMO i am going to try after playing this one is Dragon Ball Online.

Oddly enough, I personally think the only part of the Megaman franchise that could work well as an MMORPG would be the Battle Network series. It's much more open in those GBA/DS games than the rest of the franchise, and the very idea of characters and NetNavis is definitely quite transferrable easily to an MMO setting. Who knows, maybe I'll be proven wrong, but I just think the Battle Network series would work better in this case.

Prove me wrong, Capcom. Prove me wrong...
Thank you, my thoughts exactly.

Hell, even the same battle system could be imported. I miss my Battle Network ;.;

Obvious Sigma in the background is obvious... Is that official art for this project, or just some random X and Zero art that was used for the article? Because if it's for this project... It seems very strange to have Sigma back there.

And why a Mega Man X MMO anyway? Why not just do a Mega Man X 9? Why is Zero's saber orange? What are you thinking in that screwy little brain of yours Capcom...

Thirdly, that 'evil robot looking construction' in the backround is Sigma, who has nothing to do with Dr. Wily, as a matter of fact, it's Zero, the red fellow there, that was built by Dr. Wily. So would you like your helmet with, or without salt, good sir?
Nothing to do with Dr. Wily? Someone needs to go play some of the PS1 X games again...

Alright, how did this idea get funding, but "Firefly" is still untapped as an MMO?

It's doubtful Megaman X, Zero are going to be able to fit in the same timelines of Light vs. Wily. Sure Zero pretty much caused the Cataclysm, but X wasn't activated until 30 years later after Wily, Light, Megaman himself were all destroyed.

Unless all of this takes place DURING the Cataclysm and Zero is the main Antagonist... That would be interesting!

Judging by the picture supplied I would have to say that there won't be a Dr. Wily, or a roll, or rush, as those are the Megaman X series robots, and thats like in the 892781398515 years after the original megaman series. But then again its an online game, so theres also an equally good chance that those characters will be in there anways. Although I can't imagine you getting to play as megaman and zero, that would get ridiculous.

Play in a licensed characters MMO! Be a nobody character with thousand of other nobody characters! Fun!

I kid, I kid. But yeah, this reeks of either epic win or epic disaster. I see no possibility for a 'meh' here.

Looks cool, and would love it, but it probable will becoming something like Battlefield: Heroes, great and fun, and then taken over by requiring money crap to be decent. Though I dunno, Capcom might kick their ass if they get any ideas about doing that, but I'm sure something will cost money *like making your character X or Zero for like 2 weeks so they can at least bring money in, but not be required or give an advantage, or at least, a pretty small one, like maybe 2% increased speed with Zero, and maybe 5% more damage taken as a draw back, meh, one can dream*

I'm a little disappointed they're not going in any of their previous RPG directions, such as Megaman Legends, Battle Network, or That Neat Gamecube RPG That No One Remembers, but I will be sure to keep my eye on this one as it develops.

I am saddened by this. I was really hoping this would be an extension of the Megaman Legends series.

In any case, the 2D Format will pose some issues. It limits the possibilities for customization, and the fact that it's the X series (Which got fairly ridiculous in it's later incarnations) will cause some issues with the fanboys.

However, I am hoping that they do let you customize your characters: There are many, many, MANY reploids out there with unique styles of combat besides Zero and X (Or Iris or Double). It'd be nice to replicate those styles and abilities, and if they do it right, some of the zones have the opportunity to be very, VERY intense. I am hoping for a moving train level like there was in X4.

So it looks like Sigma is in the back and it's based on the Mega Man X series of games. AWESOME!!!! As long as it's on the home consoles I'll be happy. Maybe this the the Mega Man X9 we've been waiting for! I wonder if you can use X and Zero in the game or if they are NPCs, also I wonder if Axel will be in it?

Well, seeing as how the Mega Man games are just about the only games where I actually enjoy doing the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over, this might be the first MMO I could like. Maybe. We'll see.

I would like to take on custom Mega Man levels with varying difficulty with a team. It could be fun.
