I had just saw the news about it but sadly I'm from the UK.
Yeah I have bought some tickets in the past but the only winning I ever got was £10 twice. If I was in the US or that amount of money was happen in the UK then I would of bought a ticket.

$640 million?!
That's... that's...
OVER 9000!
*clears throat*

Sorry...

Anyway, the jackpot where I live is nowhere near that high (something over half a million) and the chances are so small anyway, so I don't bother.

Not a fan of lotteries.

Considering I've got more chance of being hit by a meteor.

That's on fire.

Also the meteor is made of diamonds...

Also, the meteor is electrified after passing through a storm...

Also, the meteor is the home of a sentient race of super badgers...

Also, the badgers are made of chocolate...
BUT THINK HOW RICH YOU'LL BE.

Savings account, live off interest, get my family's house finished (been sat with an empty extension for years) new cars, clear debt, back to university. ...maybe buy a street of houses and knock them all into one party complex.

Everyone who buys a ticket for a big jackpot is an idiot.

Because EVERYONE ELSE IS BUYING ONE TOO.

Buy a ticket for the crappy little small jackpot after a big draw, where your odds (while still pathetically small) go up dramatically. And if you can't be happy with 5 or 10 million, you never will be.
Does it even work like that? I haven't and likely never will buy lottery tickets, so no really sure, but I was under the impression that winning was based on some sort of "pick some numbers and hope they draw those numbers" system. Meaning that your odds are the same no matter what, and are still just as pathetically small even if you were the only one playing.

Same. It's very rare I purchase a lottery ticket, and even then it's definitely not the euromillions; as the chances of winning that are what you stated Daystar, I'd rather spend a £1.50 on simple pleasures like a bottle of Frijj and some Doritos or something :D

I don't play the lottery, but if I ever did buy a ticket and win, I would immediately hire an accountant. A lot of people who win the lottery go broke because they don't know how to handle that kind of money, and I'm not going to risk letting myself do the same thing.
