For me, there is The animaniacs, Tiny toon adventues, Dexters lab and The powerpuff girls. My childhood didn't get really awesome until 2001 though when this aired on Cartoon network

Aw yeah.

I don't think anyone's said Ahhh, Real Monsters yet, so I'm gona throw that one in there. Most of the other greats have been mentioned though.

Well, except Spiderman, which was on par with X-Men for awesomeness

SWAT Kats. Need I say more? Best. Show. Ever.
I looked it up on wikipedia but I can't say I've seen that one, might be because I never watched TBS.

This (for some reason) reminded me of biker mice from mars... I don't recall liking that show much though...
It was promptly canceled when people found out characters DIED on the show. Since violence was a hot button topic of the 90s (Kingpin, and Mortal Kombat both had troubles too) it was canceled because they believed violent shows made children violent.
Do you think it aged well? This sounds like a series worth watching.

Hmm, got to think of something that hasn't been said yet. Got it: The Tick. Good stuff, good stuff.

A lot of cartoons I was going to name were already listed, but I haven't seen these ones yet:

Also Eek The Cat, or more specifically, The Terrible Thunderlizards:

And The Tick:
I love 90's cartoons. Screw the 80's.

Gargoyles was awesome, Goliath had the best voice. Out of all the shows listed so far I think Gargoyles could have a successful remake... as long as it's not like the sonic remakes...

Speaking of which, the Freedom Fighters Sonic tv show is another great show.

Earthworm Jim
/Thread, for a children's cartoon it was very intelligent not to mention ABSOLUTELY FUCKING HILARIOUS.

I would link the evil Jim episode but I can't find it on youtube.

Edit: found it, just the beginning of this part of the episode is hilarious. I know it looks like shit, but the only one I could find.

Gargoyles was absolutely my favorite cartoon show growing up. I have often thought that Gargoyles could be remade and still be successful...I even have a tattoo of Brooklyn.

Ren and fucking Stimpy.

To this day I have NO CLUE how this show ended up on a children's network. But I can tell you this, it left me deeply, deeply scarred.

Remember that episode where Ren had a psychotic breakdown? Which was almost all of them? Gave me fuckin' nightmares.

They were good shows back in the day and still are.

I loved Courage the Cowardly Dog, Pinky and the Brain and Animaniacs
Courage started in November of '99, that's stretching "90's" pretty thin. There were only a few episodes that ever aired in the 90's.

I'm going to go with some more obscure animated shoes, namely Angela Anaconda and Ka-Blam!

Battletech.

No one, eh? Okay...

Samurai Pizza Cats, now that I look back, it's probably the first anime I ever watched, long before any of this Pokemon malarky. Well, Saber Rider and the Star Sherrifs might have come before.

Hmm, what else?

Animaniacs, Reboot, Captain Planet.

Actually, know what the best one was always:

EARTHWORM JIM!
