Not really. My dad didn't play video games at all, while my mum was an avid Pac-man player. She still plays games, if you count those 'match three' games on Facebook as games. That said, my mum is a huge comic nerd, and has a ton of Marvel comics from when she was a teenager. Mostly X-men, specifically Wolverine. Other than that, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, Blade, other sci-fi, and so on. Books are her main escape/hobby.

My ma got me into gaming and she still games to this day. She occasionally rocks the left 4 dead games with me and my crew and can more than hold her own. Some of my earliest memories were of her taking me to the arcade to let me rock out on Defender as she tore up that Ms. Pac Man.

Mum nope...not even cards. She's all business and will only be.

My dad though, I remember him playing a bunch of things that got me started. I can't remember which platformers or whatever we played, because I was just too young. But one day he was excited and said "I have a game where you kill Nazis - and it's in 3D! And you look through the eyes of the guy holding the gun". Yea, that was Wolfenstein and what started it all really.

He wasn't that interested in Doom, but went into the RTS route with Dune 2, Warcraft 1 and 2 and also Command and Conquer. But I think he stopped after that. It was awesome to watch though, especially as a young 'un. But one day he just stopped playing altogether, and kinda became "anti-game". For some reason. Either way, none of my parents play now, but gaming remains my main hobby.

Both my parents played racing games like Gran Turismo but they weren't really interested in other genres. Except for a couple of times my mother played co-op Lord of the Rings conquest with me. That was fun. And she also became semi-obsessed with Slender even though she was really bad at it. She'd get stuck in the perimeter fence constantly and just walk in circles. Slenderman never got her because she couldn't find any pages. I have no idea why she enjoyed it so much but it was fun to watch.

Don't have any memories of my dad playing games since he was a very old-fashioned pseudo-Luddite sort who hated any technology apart radios and television (as long as we were watching what he wanted of course). Me mam was a little more open-minded though and I can remember being very young and watching her trying to play an Asterix and Obelix game on Game Boy Color. But yeah, that's about it, neither of my parents were all that into games.

Sadly neither of my parents ever showed any interest in video games. When I was a kid we would play board/card games like Uno, Yahtzee, Clue or Aggravation and I have managed to get them to play Ticket to Ride and a couple of other newer board games, but I think video games are lost cause when it comes to them.

My mom didn't really play games too often but I recall her playing Duck Hunt with Dad once...Dad and my Step-Dad were the two who would play games, my Dad more than my Step-dad. Whenever we would go to the beach (where boardwalk arcades survive the passage of time) or go to Dave & Busters (which is an arcade that is ashamed of that fact), Dad would generally play racing games. His favorites were from the Rush and Thunder series. I recall he and I spending a ton of time playing Arctic Thunder for well over an hour once which is pretty long for an arcade session. When it comes to my Step-Dad, he and I would play Madden together (he would always win) but he also REALLY liked IQ. He had a Sega Genesis too but I don't recall seeing him play it too much...I did really like playing Road Rash and Zero Tolerance on it when I was about 6 or 7 though.

One of my Uncles is more of a gamer though. Back before Silver and Gold I remember my uncle and I talking about Pokemon and he complained about the inconsistency of ground attacks being useless on flying type Pokemon but working fine on Koffing and Megnemite (who both float). I also recall him talking about how weird it is that Magnemite can be poisoned since it isn't exactly an organic creature...

None from my childhood. But when they visited me, I used to play Wii Sports with my mother, and Rock Band II with my father.

I have a bit of a different story. When I was nine or ten years old, I got seriously sick and had to spend entire summer in a hospital bed. The illness prevented me from walking, and as a kid I was obviously terribly bored. My father, however, asked my older cousin if he would lend me his PS2 for that time. It came to me with Crash Bandicoot 3, and since then my summer got a lot nicer! My dad, as a serious businessman, would sit beside me and watch me play every now and then, and I know how bored he must have been, but it meant a lot. He later played Rome Total War, as I mentioned in my previous post. Oh, and the kid lying in the second bed in the same hospital room got jealous and slapped me in the face. But that's a different story haha
