I'm an ex anorexic (I know it's something that never really goes, but I completely ignore it) and I am a psycopath.

I am awesome.

I'm not going to play doctor and diagnose myself with some disorder, but there's definitely something wrong with me. I don't take failure well. At all. Anytime I fail at something that I take seriously, I start to hate myself to the point where I have to resist the urge to punch myself in the face so I don't make a scene.

When I was told during my internship that I was basically a failure as a radio announcer by the morning show host (who has a lot of experience and knows what he's talking about), I dwelled on what he said for days afterward, to the point where I was hyperventilating on the drive to work one day.

In MMA/Boxing sparring, when I make stupid mistakes, I get pissed off at myself to the point where I gas out from the tension. Sometimes I even deliberately get hit out of anger at myself.

Mainly Insomnia, if that counts. Also, prone to anxiety attacks which tend to stem from a potential case of agoraphobia (either my active imagination causes it when I dream of the factors of the situation, or I get it in real life when I am faced with the factors during a situation) and a definite case of Asperger's Syndrome (not to the point of disability, but enough to cause notable deficiencies in my thought and concentration patterns that below normal for most of any average individual).

That's about it for me, and all three of those are doctor diagnosed, by the way.

I've been professionally diagnosed with severe bipolar depression. Right now I'm on Lamictal and Lithium for it, along with weekly therapy sessions. Feels bad, man. I didn't even have the good fortune to get type I with the fun highs. Type II sucks.

I have it so severe and debilitating that, here in the US where I live, I qualify for disability. I just found that out today. Shit sucks.
Lithium? Isn't that fuel for electric batteries? o_O

I have Asperger's Syndrome and ADHD, not a self-diagnosis. I take Methyphenidate(Also known as Ritalin) for my ADHD.

Personally, I think I might have Apophenia and chronical depression.

I have OCD but its not that bad so it rarely causes an issue apart from having to keep my room very tidy now

Maybe paranoia? Bit of social anxiety? Although I have an awesome girlfriend and fantastic friends so the socail anxiety is very mild :)

Though I think I might have some kind of depression? But I'm not sure. I've seen two therapists several years apart and they didn't really think much of it. So nothing really :)

"Or Think You May Have"

You've done it now. Everyone and their dog on this forum claims they've got at least 3 mental disorders.

OT: None.

As someone else mentioned, mental health is a continuum and disorders are constellations of normal traits that have become exaggerated to the point that they interfere with one's life.

This is the main reason why self-diagnosis is discouraged, because everyone has traits that resemble disorder symptoms.

For example
Hypochondriasis isn't simply thinking that you are ill in some way, it's interpreting minor symptoms as a serious illness. It isn't simply anxiety of about being sick, it's impending doom anxiety.

Simply self diagnosing doesn't make you a hypochondriac. Getting a headache and going to an oncologist to get an MRI because you know you have brain cancer makes you a hypochondriac.

Not "ha-ha, maybe it's a tumor", but "I'm getting a second opinion from someone who takes me seriously".

ADD is also an interesting case since difficulty concentrating is actually a feature of a lot of disorders. Anxious people, depressed people, manic people, and psychotic people all have difficulty concentrating. Concentration is a frontal lobe function and the frontal lobes are the most sensitive part of the brain and the first to start malfunctioning when something goes amiss

If I remember correctly, what separates ADD is that stimulation helps a person with ADD concentrate, while for other people it distracts them.

Some of us, like me, are also agoraphobic, which is actually the fear of being caught in a situation you can't escape from rather than fear of "wide, open spaces", though that is obviously a subset.
As I recall, it's specifically the fear of places where escaping would be difficult or embarrassing... in the event of having a panic attack.

That's why Panic Disorder (where you essentially have random Panic Attacks) frequently leads to developing Agoraphobia. You can't predict when you'll have a Panic Attack so the only amount of control you have is avoiding places where it'd really suck to have one.

Ever thought that of all your family, she needs your love the most? If she's, as you put it, a drunkard Jesus-freak, she's trying to escape something. Ever thought about what?

Cause and Effect friend, Cause and Effect.
No, she doesn't need my love. She's, like, 15-20 years older than me and she's only my half-sister.

Now, we may as well end this here. There's no point in arguing because I'm not going to care. So, I don't want you to waste your time. Hey, at least I'm honest.

I know I'm a Depressive Bipolar but nobody believes me.
I can completely happy and jumping around one minute, than the next i'm on the ground in the fetal position crying and talking about killing myself.

Also I believe I am OCD. My sheets on my bed need to be the right way when I sleep, everything in my room must be unplugged or I can't even close my eyes to sleep.

... Thank you. You've given me some perspective on my own 14-years-older-than-me half-sister. I hadn't realised just what a cold bastard I'd been to her. You've rather succinctly illuminated me.
