Really? Just . . . really!?! Ugh. This is why I hesitate to ever call myself a fan of any given series, people take games way too seriously.ReservoirAngel said:I think it's just because nobody really likes Raiden. Like, at all. And I don't get that, I like Raiden. I actually prefer him to Snake, a statement that has earned me hatred up to and including death threats from hardcore Metal Gear fans.
The rumors are that Kojima's team are still doing the story, Platinum is doing the gameplay. I'm too lazy to try and confirm that, though.TehCookie said:I'm curious how so many people through it was going to be a stealth game from that trailer. He ran around chopping up several people. It was called Lighting Bolt Action. Could that have not been more obvious? Did you want one hit kills as shown? That doesn't make for a very fun game. It's just a bunch of winey fans who saw a 2 minute trailer and projected their dream game onto it and now have to face reality.
I don't get how people think it will ruin the franchise either. You have MGS5 in development so it's not like this game will affect the main series. Not to mention Kojima even went as far as renaming it to further illustrate it's not part of the main series. Also for those who say it's too unrealistic to fit in the MGS world, go play MGS4 again. Or just look up one of the several youtube videos that get posted showing how ridiculous Raiden is (such as the gekko fight).
The only thing I'm sad about is the fact P* decided to do a different story. I wanted to see how Raiden became a cyborg, and P* may be great at gameplay but story-telling is their weakness.
OT: I love how people are denouncing it as a "button-masher" when all we've seen is an updated trailer showing an extremely small section of the game, without even showing a person actually controlling the character. How do you automatically know it'll be a "button-masher"? Because Devil May Cry was? Stop right there,
EDIT: Oh, and the game has been announced for like, two years now. In all of that time it has been about "Lightning Bolt Action" documenting Raiden alone. Stop acting surprised that it's an action game focused on Raiden.
