Metal Gear Solid 4 On 360?

We all know Metal Gear Solid 4 is coming out soon on PS3 on june 12th.
Unfortuantely i do not own a ps3.
I keep hearing rumours flying all over the place that there will be a 360 release
does anyone know anymore on this?
I know Kojima has said it was going to be a ps3 release
but does anyone know if its going to be bought out on 360.
Because i dont really want to go out and buy a PS3 if its coming out on the 360.

There were rumours for a while back yeah. But I've heard nothing concrete and have to agree with Indigo that it may not be possible unless they do something about compressing it and they release a motion sensitive controller for the 360 or change those bits.

It was rumoured to happen because the PS3 wasn't selling as planned and so Konami wouldn't meet their expected sales I think.

MGS4 was the only reason I wanted a PS3 as FF games have disappointed me of late and there wasn't anything else going for it like their used to be in the old days. But its too much money to pay for one game and I'm hoping they do port it over with a later release but I'm not holding my breath.

Honestly, no idea. But based on previous Metal Gears, it probably will arrive on 360.

But in much the same way Halo games arrive on PC, so expect it at least a couple of years after its PS3 release. It might also depend on whether or not the 360 gets a motion sensitive controller.

Ot they might do what they did with 2, release two as a Playstation exclusive. Then some time later release Substance, essentialy 2+, on Playstation, Xbox and PC.

but i mean sure blu ray holds more but
konami could just use multiple disks like they did with mgs1 couldnt they?
i mean if i have to buy a ps3 for this one game i will
shame they could get alot of business and sales with the xbox i think
theres more of a market

Just they used to have all they games I (<<<<) wanted to play. Now they don't so I'm not getting one. GTA bores me and is on 360, as does God of Button mash which I watch my brother play to look at the rather nice visuals anyway.
Oh yeah Resistance was fun at my mates house. I'll play that with hm when he gets it. Co-op was cool. Played it all in one straight evening on Tesco's knock-off of Red Bull. took 8hrs till 6am then played death match for a bit. Cool guns.

I seem to think they did that with 3 as well, but couldn't vouch for it.

Edited: No they only did it for MGS2 Substance.

They did not do that with 3, it remained a Ps2 exclusive, and all the better for it.

And what previous trends are these? If a thing happens once, and then is not repeated, it is a mistake, not a trend.

MGS 1 ended up on the PC and Gamecube (all be it in a heavily altered form). Whilst 2 ended up on the xbox and the PC.

But then 3 didn't as you pointed out.
So maybe nobody on the pc/xbox actually went out and bought them.
Or maybe Sony dangled an enormous check under Konami's nose.

Hasn't Hideo complained that the 50gig on blu ray discs isn't enough? Because they were going to have the original Japanese audio on the European release as well but had to cut it out because there wasn't enough space. I assume this is so we can have about 10 hours of cutscences. Per bossfight.

Please correct me if i'm wrong but doesn't the 360 use normal DVDs? If so, that would make a 360 release unlikely I think.

It is coming out for the 360. It has not been said when but they did say that they would say at E3 or at the Tokyo Game Show. Not that I even like or want MGS 4.

If the in-game videos floating around on the net are anything to go by, from a hardware perspective, the 360 is simply not going to be able to handle it, it is as simple as that, and we all know how Hideo is about his art, he is not going to degrade the graphics or anything else just to put it on the 360.

Someone has never looked inside a computer. I don't want to be offensive, so...why don't we handle this skit-style.
Jakub: Well, everyone, here at the annual Making Money with Games meeting, I've come to a conclusion. See this chart? A great many people own 360's. If we were to port this game...Sturdy Steel Gearbox 3, to the 360, I believe many people will buy it! It would certainly make up for the fact that the money we made from the PS3 version couldn't even fill 5 wheelbarrows.
Katana: Yes, sir...but that's just not plausible. MGS4 uses a lot of new technology, much of it using the PS3's architecture! Multi-threaded processing, controller tilt functions, nonlinear GPU structuring...

Well, not necisarily flamed, but please tell me you're joking about the Wii version?

If Kojima said that Blu-Ray was too small to fit everything he wanted for MGS4, then i highly HIGHLY doubt that MGS4 will be on the Xbox360. Even if it was ported in 2,3 years, it'll be like "Lost Planet" on the PS3, hundreds-of-thousands of people will be able to enjoy a game millions have already!

Here's what i really think of this topic. Bullshit. Just complete idiocracy. Xbox360 (hardware wise) cannot run the game with all of the stuff in it already, especialy if it maxed out the Blu-Ray space capabilities. Even if it was a port, they would have to severely cut GB's of storage just to make it have atleast some goodies, and maybe run smoothly enough for play.

So let this be known once and for all: METAL GEAR SOLID 4: GUNS OF THE PATRIOTS WILL NOT BE COMEING TO THE XBOX360!!! Sorry, it's just that my Xbox friends yell at me how MGS will be on the Xbox, even though they have no clue what they are talking about.
