Well, I was considering getting a PS4 at some stage down the line for MGS.
Guess not any more.
Be nice to see the game how it's meant to look.

Rising was completely functional. Textures were a bit shit and it looks like it's because they weren't downscaled high-res to begin with, and you should bring a gamepad. I figure since this is a shooter they'll figure out how to get good mouse aiming though.Wasted said:Who here has played Metal Gear Rising on the PC?
How good of a port can we expect with Metal Gear Solid 5?
JRPGs [that are not Dark Souls]... (I mean, they're really missing out...)Bonk4licious said:I'm forgetting why we need consoles again...
I just need FF VX to come to PC. I would feel bad buying a PS4 just for that game.FPLOON said:JRPGs [that are not Dark Souls]... (I mean, they're really missing out...)Bonk4licious said:I'm forgetting why we need consoles again...
honestly PC is also getting quite a few JRPGs, id eve dare say that if you dont have a PS console, PC is your second best option for JRPGs, altough admitedly, its mostly niche stuffFPLOON said:JRPGs [that are not Dark Souls]... OT: Oh damn, son! I hope MGS5 really pushes its graphical (and detailed) capabilities now...
Then again, I was probably going to buy it on PS4, but still...
There are no words to hold my excitement.endtherapture said:http://www.pcgamer.com/2014/08/13/metal-gear-solid-v-phantom-pain-and-ground-zeroes-confirmed-for-pc/
And there goes my reason to get a next gen console, seriously who is exciting for this?
I've seen you make this post before and I let it go than, but I'm responding to it now. First by the usual definition of the ugly term JRPG Dark Souls doesn't really "count", nor would I count FFXIV as some sort of shocker considering its an MMO.NuclearKangaroo said:honestly PC is also getting quite a few JRPGs, id eve dare say that if you dont have a PS console, PC is your second best option for JRPGs, altough admitedly, its mostly niche stuff
besides the dark souls series there is:
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, the Ys collection, Half Minute Hero 1 and 2 (the second game has workshop integration), Recettear, The Last Remnant, Phantasy Star 2, 3 and 4, Shining Force some classic FF games and FFXIV
among other less noteworthly games

is not much but i think its more than what the xbox 360 offers for instance, and more than what either next new console offers
JRPG, Japanese RPG, it doesnt get any more accurate than that dude, if you want to only include party basted turn based games, go ahead, but JRPG dont exclusively involve those, costume quest and south park the stick of truth would be JRPGs then wouldnt they?Rozalia1 said:I've seen you make this post before and I let it go than, but I'm responding to it now. Secondly most of those are old ports not "new games" so you can't use them to claim that PC is actually getting JRPGs, as that would imply we'd be seeing the likes of atelier on there soon or something which won't be happening.
Thirdly the list is not only shockingly small and includes several games that aren't JRPGs (Costume quest? I'm not saying its a bad game, I enjoyed it but in what world is it a JRPG?) but it has none of the old JRPG elites...well it has a couple of final fantasies there...but where is:
Wild Arms
Valkyrie profile
Breath of Fire
Disgaea
SMT + Persona + Devil Summoner
Dragon Quest
Fire Emblem
Grandia
Lufia
Xenosago
Atelier
Pokemon
Suikoden
Shining Force
Shadow Hearts
Mario RPG
Star Ocean
Tales
Vandal Hearts
Why aren't those all ported if PC is "getting" JRPGs (don't answer I know the answer).
Fourthly and most importantly you should never when selling a platform use the fact it has Phantasy Star 3 on it. 1 and 2 are bad but whatever products of their times so you have to play them while giving them concessions, 4 stands up even today as is miles better than the other 3 games combined...3...had a nice idea that I suppose was ahead of its time...which is the nicest thing I can say about it.
As someone who doesn't understand a thing about computers...me. I would have no idea how to get one put together, and I'm not going to spend a few grand on a premade one,nor take the stuff o a tech shop that will charge through the roof. And since graphical performance isn't the most important thing for me, I'll be fine with my 30FPS and 720p and down scaled graphics.Bonk4licious said:I'm forgetting why we need consoles again...
