Maybe start out small first, because I'm guessing going up against Snake right off the bat and having your defeat be a foregone conclusion wouldn't be fun to a lot of people. I'm thinking more along the lines of stopping an actual E-rank scrub as the tutorial, then escalating things from there with progressively higher ranked dudes. Then a team, a squad, and so on, until the 'final' mission has you trying to stop multiple full squads of S-ranked troops with support, basically a small army. You beat them. Good job, Outer Heaven is secure. Roll credits.
But if you complete certain secondary (maybe even hidden) objectives along the way, you get an extra mission after the credits. It'll of course be vs Solid Snake, and really, really ballbustingly hard. If you manage to beat him though, you get something special. No, not an unlock or a bonus cutscene or anything.
The 'Time Paradox' game over screen, like if you kill Ocelot in MGS3. And nothing else.
Probably. Kojima has been saying each new MGS game was to be the last one and that he wanted to do other things since MGS2, but I guess Konami roped him back in every time. I suppose him and Konami falling out finally got him what he wanted.
