I have a friend who says I can use their account to make a character (I'm insanely cheap) and I've yet to decide if I'll take them up. I'm enticed by the social aspect, but I'm not sure if I'm ready for the repetitive grinding. Any recommendations?

Almost every MMO becomes a grind in the end. Can't hardly blame blizzard for that, it's not like they invented it.
I like it myself, but not for full time. I often play it a month or a few months at a time, and then switch to another MMO for a while. Played city of villains, guildwars and final fantasy 11. that way.
WoW can be quite social, if you run into social people, are social yourself, and join a guild with an RP focus. It can be quite fun then.

Every review takes critisim. So if they can't stand the heat of it... they find another job. At least listen to our critisim to see what you're doing wrong so you can fix it.

Well, for sure, I can live without reading one of MGG's latest and *most exciting* reviews.
You should strongly think about content, make an effort. Think about punctuation. Don't even think about using foul language when you don't have the basics right. Besides, use less capslock, it will help a lot.
Oh buggers. I'm not your nanny. Even when I was twelve years old and reading game reviews, I knew there were a few codes to follow, if I really wanted to pretend writing a review of my own, one day.

If your next "review" is just as bad as this one, I think you will to prepare yourself for a hell of a flak.
Honestly, the criticism you got here is relatively tame in comparison to what you'd have been rewarded with on other boards.

In honesty before this review the escapist seemed like the most excepting place on the web, in any case purple rain, he's not paid for this so ur analogy sucks, also why's this wall so long? I mean for a review someone did for fun it's kinda creepy that the blog is longer then the one for more involving blogs, like the multiplayer games one

for the love of GOD....why do you keep writing reviews?!
I want to gouge my eyes out with spoons whenever I read any of these poorly written, half-assed "reviews"

(I had almost a page written out to help you out but the connection timed out... /cry)

3 tips

1. Break the game down into things that really make or break the game, take into account art direction, innovation, technical or artistic break troughs. Draw comparisons to other games in both game play and graphics.

2. read /watch /listen to other reviews and notice how they break games down into categories then even farther into subcategories this is done to make the person reading /watching /listening to the review understand why the reviewer thinks the way they do (if its on the game you're reviewing don't steal someone WILL call you on it, I personally frequent over 12 sites for video games).

3. Punctuation, Grammar, Spelling, although it doesn't have to be Shakespeare I should only have to read what you typed once and understand it.

Keep trying

You should write reviews for GameFAQs. You're James Joyce compared to most contributors there.

Sorry to say but a new player on wow really cant review it... I have played it for 2 years, yes im a sad little prick...
I have experianced most things in the game and i really disagree with you MGG on a few points.

First of i'd like to explain my first comment, as a new player in wow you get amazed on how big the world is, you really ask your self if you ever will explore it all? You get all triggerd by how easy it is and all skills you gain. But let my (sorry to say) break this dealing alittle for you, but its for your own good before you get to deep into it.

GAMEPLAY -

Yes, its really easy to start with wow, the controls are so basic and you can go on explore the world seconds ater you create your troll, human, dwarf or whatever you'r playing. But thats the problem its so simpel you i'll get stuck with the same skills the whole game, as a rogue you get a skill called sinister strike on lvl 1 and that will stil be your main skill on lvl 70 you will get a few skills that boosts you damage for a few seconds and alot of other stuff at higher levels but stil, your first skill is your main attack, i mean you never have to move that skills from your actionbars even when you gain lvl 70. An other exampel is the mage, they gain fireball at lvl 1 and thats thier mainskill at lvl 70.
But once again dont let me misslead you, YOU WILL GAIN OTHER SKILLS, and you can replace those skills with other attacks but >> I M O << The best specs in the game wants you to use your main attacks.

GRAPHICS -

There is really nothing wrong with it, and it is kinda hard to make it more advance whit that many players online at the same time. But there is alot of things ingame that you just makes you want to slit the thorat of puppies, for exampel, you walk into an inn and you feal like going crazy. so it might be fun to jump up on a tabel and dance on it, but no, you just fall right through it. Zomg a hologram!! No its not, its just a graphic bug, and there is loads of them, killing a monster to close to a wall and it might just go through it when he falls to his death. Sure i might be a little hard to please but this is stuff that can fixed really easy. And when you walk down the road looking at the nature its all nice. But if you look behind the big mountaions you will find empty plains with no graphic at all, just a waste land with no design at all, just take up memory and space on your computer, cause you more loading time and it really buggs your mind.

MULTIPLAY -

Well as you said its an online game without any really campaign, and its nice with games you really have too play with other players, its a nice community... in theory, the fact about the gamers is that they are underaged, kinda retarded and SUCK at the game. 3% of the players that play wow is actually playing the end-game bosses << FACT!!
like 20% tries the smaller "hard instances" and like 50% just suck shit, and the rest of the people is worser then that. Its really bad that this game that is so funnie got all the retards of the gaming world.

Guess thats it, hope i didnt break anyone to tears but this is the truth.

Or maybe they haven't been playing for two years and don't have good enough gear to join a raiding guild. Maybe they're loners who prefer to play by themselves. Maybe they think PvE is boring and repetitive and choose to spend their time in BGs or arena.

Maybe I'm being overly defensive over having never been in a raid. Maybe I'm slightly pathetic.

Or maybe you're right. I started playing, and I have the most fun running around and exploring, or playing with a few buddies. Proving myself uber at the game is not on the list.

Worst haiku ever.

Don't forget they have to mention a season.
Actually, haikus only have to make a vague reference to nature, not necessarily a season. The second line is 2 syllables to long, though. :p
