Rareware stopped being Rareware some time after they were acquired by Microsoft. When they became more about kinect games than their traditional quality games, all the devs that made Rare great had already left. It is a great shame what happened to Rareware; the only consolation being the upcoming game Yooka-Laylee, by some of the same devs that made Banjo-Kazooie.

Worth mentioning, if you, like me, enjoy cutesy platformers, is A Hat in Time, which should be coming out sometime soon. (Just thought I'd mention it, in case you didn't already know).

EDIT: Sorry, I forgot; #FucKonami.
I did not know, thanks for sharing! Shall look that up indeed. With companies like Rare, it would have been better close up and die with dignity, but instead their husk is being worn like a robot sock puppet by MS for their utterly senseless needs. The last game i can remember having any passion was Nuts and Bolts, even if it wasn't an expected genre for Banjo Kazooie, it still maintained their creative identity. I remember leaving school and starting college with the sole intention of studying, hoping to work in their offices as they have (or had? haven't checked in years) a very extravagant bit of land here in the UK with a unique work ethic. Time saw to it that those plans deteriorated and were shelved. It was lucky timing i guess, that could have lead to a very unfulfiliing career. There is always Yooka-Laylee...but Perfect Dark doesn't seem likely to find a successor anytime soon, nor Conker. *Le sigh*

I kinda stopped caring about Konami and their pachinko-thing and when I heard about this it made no impression on me.

And then I saw the trailer. I was furious, I admit; not because we're not getting MGS3 remastered (fuck that, no more remasters, just port the games to the PC to increase their life-span and then forget the series exists), but because it feels... cheap. Insulting. Dirty.

You have a guy who has almost single-handedly carried your company through two generations of gaming. He has made a major video-game series that is tied to your company. He then develops (or at least oversees the development of) one of the best and most versatile engines currently out there. You shitcan said guy, you treat him like a criminal, you bar him from receiving his earned-awards under the threat of a lawsuit and you declare that great engine that could help create a great deal of better games in the future is something you're not interested in using ever again.

And then.

AND THEN.

You are using one of the most beloved entries in the series that guy created and you remake one of the most iconic scenes of that entry in that engine you're not using anymore or ever again-- FOR A PANCHINKO GAME. You greedy, stupid, deplorable bastards.

I've never been clear, Pachinko is just pinball right?
It has been described as Pinball by those who played the game. And are trying to relay to those (such as westerners) who haven't.

There's of course tons of YouTube clips that show what Pachinko is.

Now this is a strange turn of events and I honestly do not know where to even begin with it.
Late to the party man. Everyone has already thrown their bile at it.

Me I am indifferent and this is coming from a Metal Gear fan.
