Awesome. I'm so happy I could take a crap and throw it like a monkey!
Actually realistically there's still unfortunately no guarantee as to us poor Aussies getting an R18 rating. A major impediment to that event has indeed been removed, but it's early days yet.
A few more weeks and the new guy will be installed, so we shall see in a month or two if this is indeed the joyous occasion that it seems to be.
On another note, I wonder how much of his stepping down had anything to do with the fact that he had experienced multiple death threats via mail, email etc. One report I read implied that some douchebags had even gone so far as to threaten his family. I don't care how stubborn and staunch a politician you are, that would probably rattle you and make you rethink things. Just saying...
I still think the dickhead gamers that actually sent the threats to him need to be castrated before they pollute the genepool any more. Every SINGLE ONE of the people who did this, thinking in their own ignorant fashion that they would help, is responsible for making an R18 rating less likely to happen by influencing public opinion against gamers. Good going idiots.
All said and done though, a new dawn breaks across Australian censorship....
(Now where can I buy a proper copy of Dark Sector with limb twitching goodness? xD)
