The only reason they are still selling is because every ones Xbox's are breaking and instead of paying 120$ and wait a month they just go and buy an arcade console.
Yeah, that sounds plausible. /sarcasm

I think Microsoft shouldn't be patting themselves on the back. If my Xbox 360 was working, I would have bought so many more games. As it stands now, the people at the repair shop have had more time with my 360 than I have. I really think Microsoft should stay out of the next console generation because I can't see why anyone in their right mind would subject themselves to this treatment again. I know I won't.
I can never figure why people find the repair process long-Mine broke, send it off on the Tuesday, got it back the next Monday. Similar stories have happened to everyone I know who's Xbox broke down.

Microsoft has got some ballz, but they should be proud. In other regions mostly japan has probably seen alot of growth in the ds market

Once again Microsoft acts like Nintendo doesn't even exist. Top selling GAMES are all still Wii and DS titles.

The 360 "growth" is likely due to multiple console ownership (people on their third xbox) and cannibalization of the playstation and PC markets (many 360 games are titles that would have come out for the PC, once upon a time). Microsoft and Sony are two dogs fighting over the last juicy table scraps; sure Microsoft may be the bigger dog but they're still eating crap off the floor.

Because when it happens for the third time in a row you begin to lose patience in waiting another 2-4 weeks so it will break again. Thats why people buy a new console so they get the Jasper chip set and not have a product that will have a 70% chance of breaking.

What is wrong with you people? Your absolute sheep. The OP gives a negative opinion, so you follow suit. Here's an idea: Get an actual opinion.

Anyway, it makes sense. Whilst I would note that the US doesn't count as the whole world, the 360 is the favoured console of choice from what I see on this forum (most of the time, when people don't go out of their way to flame it).

I can see this changing with the PS3's price drop though.
i can too the ps3 is awesome but its waaaaaaaay to expensive and you have to download games onto the harddrive. that stinks major and the load times

So microsoft is selling well and cought up with the Wii for 1 month, and microsoft calls it a "shining beacon of hope"

Yeah, no.

And the U.S. isn't the only country in the world that has people bying consoles.

In Japan the 360 is in last place, occasionally jumping ahead when a jrpg comes out exclusively on the console. Not sure about sales in Europe, although last I hear PS3 was catching up.

scrap all consoles, PC gaming all the way, the difference with PC gaming is it actually does go by how good the game is and how good you are, it's pretty much a fan-boy/girl free zone, at least in the sense of "Nintendo/Sony/Microsoft fan-boy/girl". Oh, and there's nobody with 12 year old syndrome :)

49500 less units sold than the Wii which despite being in a YTD slump is still kicking the 360 all over the market now thats the real story

besides it's too hard to be a PC fanboy/girlz (thanks EA) the consoles only gives you 3 sides to pick but what about Intel/AMD/ATI/Nvidia/IBM/Apple/Windows/Linux/XFX/BFG/Asus/Gigabyte/Seagate

With everyone complaining about the 360 always breaking, I can't help but think. Am I the only person who was red-ringed no more than ONCE, after owning a 360 for four years?

Well, they could have put it less arrogantly. But all the same, I'm very glad I picked the 360, although to be fair, I'm too old for a Wii and not rich enough for a PS3. ^_^

thats just arrogant. thats why i hate Bill gates and Microsoft, whenever they win at anything they just rub it in sony and nintendo's faces.
You can't hate Bill Gates. There's nothing to hate. He started MS with nothing and made billions. He then started one of the largest charities in the world.

You can't hate Microsoft either, it's sole purpose is to make money. You wouldn't hate a baseball for being a baseball would you?

And finally: Of course they rub it in. Do you honestly believe that Sony or Nintendo wouldn't do the exact same thing?

Now I know it's fun to hate on MS because...Well, I honestly don't know why. Because they make money? But c'mon, I think you're all overreacting to a bit of victory dancing in the face of hard(er) times. To quote one of my least favorite sayings ever: "QQ."

I question everything following Linux...Seeing as how they can be compatible depending on which piece they are...And Seagate is a HDD manufacturer, so there is really no compatibility issues there...

Also your list is heavily simplified.

EDIT: Duble post...

Ignoring the arrogance, (which in all fairness I would be gleeming with If i were MS) I gotta say it looks like MS did a good job.

Of course If I where MS I would have put a bunch put a big sign in front of Sony's hq with the words LOOOOSSSEEEERRRSSS and a picture of billgates with a smile on his face.

Ps, It seems to be doing well in europe if you trust http://www.vgchartz.com/

So you people are irritated because Microsoft is happy with the sale results and patting themselves on the back?

Where have you people been these past recent years concerning NINTENDO?!

Did you not see their E3 presentation of CHARTS AND GRAPHS?!

And Sony just dominated the last generation.

Can you blame Microsoft? Give me a break.

Why would you buy multiple 360s when you can get yours fixed for free?

RRoD knee jerk joke syndrome plus fanboyism = most of the posts in this thread.

When was the last time you actually had a RRoD anyway?
Hell, if you want to go down that road, how many of the 120 million PS2s were multi system buyers due to the shitty disk drive?

Have some perspective, people.

If you honestly can't see why people would want to poke fun at Microsoft for saying that their console is the "only bright spot in the industry" then you may want to hold back on the fanboy accusations. Glass houses and all that.

Anyway, 360 is a bright spot because those red LEDs are pretty bright. Am I right?

The Wii is an atrocious vomit-inducing, beetle filled pile of tripe with no good games being released for it EVER and the PS3 is alright. Better than the fucking Wii by God, but just alright. I had a Wii, and I hated it, and bought an Xbox 360, and let me tell you, THAT was the smartest decision I have ever made in my life, and I do not look back on that miserable failure of a console... but I don't agree the 360 is a bright spot, oh no. More like a dim smudge in an otherwise atrocious market of laziness and unoriginality. I'd play it, but I won't praise it. That would be giving Microsoft what they want - money.

The reason there's a console war is because they're all expensive and incompatible. Like Nvidia and ATI. But not at all like Seagate and Maxtor (Mostly cuz one owns the other, literally). I'm saying that there's really no need to be a fanboy/girl when it comes to HDD's/Monitors/companies who sell mainstream parts (BFG, etc.).

And your list is heavily oversimplified.
