Why disbar the lawyer? The poor guy saw this as an easy way to feed his starving wife and children.Unholykrumpet said:the lawyer who took his case should be barred from practicing law...
what the hell are you talking about i got all of those games the day they came out and i had no kind of problem with them what so ever so how about you stop talking like you know ever think and actually think maybe its not the game that fucked up its you.shadow skill said:While I think a class action suit is overkill people calling this guy a moron for actually complaining are in fact more moronic than this guy is. You sound like someone in an abusive relationship, you have been punched in the face so many times that you have begun to believe that such behavior is appropriate. Users basically should not complain when games like The Darkness contain bugs that make it impossible to complete the game because a player has done a side quest before chapter five? They shouldn't complain when a game breaks just because you decide to remap the buttons as is the case with the 360 version of the Orange Box (Remap any action to the dpad and you lose the ability to switch to the weapon class mapped there by default making it possible for you to disable weapon switching entirely, and I am being nice in calling it a bug.)
Then there are all the problems with both versions of Assassin's Creed...Am I the only one seeing a pattern here yet? The patching business is getting way out of hand now, I think that these companies need to be sued so that they stop releasing games that have not been properly QC'ed I can't think of any other item that people will buy that is advertised as properly working and is in reality broken, and the manfacturer gets away with the mere promise of a patch to fix the issue.
It's time to get out of this abusive relationship as far as I am concerned.
In fact, it sounds like all of them did that.FreelancerADP said:The lawsuit alleges no such remedies on the part of the defendant. The narrative of the complaints goes something like: He bought the game, it didn't work, he got a lawyer.ghostme said:For the people that think the lawsuit came out of nothing and is just purely based on him not being content about the one copy. It started off with just the one person not being able to play due to disc read errors and it ended up with somewhere between 600 and a 1000 people on the forum not being able to play the game due to disc read errors and random lock-ups.
The largest group that encountered the problem traded their disc in several times, some sent their xbox in for repairs but got more and more p!ssed off at the situation as they werent getting any help from the xbox helpline (being forced to pay a x ammount of dollars to get a new discdrive yet all other games were working, sending in their xbox several times, being told to trade in the disc they just traded in).
But if you want to actually see how they started up and waited quite a length of time for a patch or a fix and finally started talking about a lawsuit to get the game working you will see its not because they want a lot of money or anything but they just wanted to play the game, search the xbox forum for halo 3 + disc read error or DRE.
Do you not realize that this thread is from 2007. Around that time I can state a that the following were facts around the time I made the post you quoted:Helgar11 said:what the hell are you talking about i got all of those games the day they came out and i had no kind of problem with them what so ever so how about you stop talking like you know ever think and actually think maybe its not the game that fucked up its you.shadow skill said:While I think a class action suit is overkill people calling this guy a moron for actually complaining are in fact more moronic than this guy is. and about the patch thing well i havent got a single one of them so i dont know any thing about them but i would rather have the promise of something to fix the problem than nothing at all.
and if everyone sued cause of a screw up in the game then the companies would either go bankrupt or just stop making games that are really good and go back to pong where there is no way for them to fuck up.
oh and one more thing this guy is a fucking retard for sueing he probably has the only fucked up copy made so he should have returned it and gone on with his life i mean god so it didnt work that is no reason to sue the company.
Agreed. I'm pretty sure the case is long over by now.D_987 said:Don't necro a year old thread...slopeslider said:*snip*

No, no it won't. Games are already difficult enough to make with current budgets. QA takes a long time on games, and it takes a lot of cash too. I've explained this many times before as well. A lot of developers are going indie because big budget games are getting more and more difficult to make.Kronopticon said:im quite proud of this man, he's making a damn good point, these consoles were meant to play well, not have random errors in gameplay, personally, microsoft should be liable for not making a reliable console.
either way, it will bring a revolution in gaming, in some way or another, well, i hope so![]()
