I think we should all file a complaint against IE. piece of shitTheEvilCheese said:Google owns the market because it's easy to use, fast and above all: Familiar.
I hope Google Counter-Claims against Internet Explorer. That'd be some poetic justice right there.
That's what I thought. I was like, "Wow. Hypocrite much?"HankMan said:Oh Poor Microsoft!

The only other two search engines I can think of are Yahoo and Ask Jeeves.Dusk17 said:Well i don't use Google or Bing so I don't really care

That's because bing is the default search engine on the default internet browser for the OS that is most popular. MS got slammed in the UK for anti-competitory practices for making IE the default browser, so they should probably just shut the fuck up unless they're willing to give all releases of Windows 7 (not just the UK) the choice of browser from the first install. He feels that the competitive environment in the U.S. is also poor, but says Bing has at least been able to take a 25% market share in the region.
I misread that the firs time, thanks for highlighting that line there.Veloxe said:Oh man that's too funny, can't stop laughing. Maybe the microsoft people should go Bing what irony is, just for fun. This week, Microsoft officially joined a group of companies in Europe that have filed complaints with the European Commission against Google for what they call potentially illegal anti-competitive practices.
The spirit of antitrust law runs pretty damn contrary to nearly all of modern business. If you want to go down that road, it's going to take us a very, very long way from here.Nohra said:And all of the people replying fail to understand why we have antitrust laws in the first place.
I know right?Enkidu88 said:Maybe Bing can't compete because it's complete crap? Just a thought Microsoft.
Kinda like Magneto suing Doctor doom for taking over the world?unacomn said:Oh man, that was a good one. Funniest April fools so far today.
Wait, it's not a joke?
Microsoft filing an anti-trust suit for control over the internet is like Doctor Evil filing a suit against... well anybody, for trying to take over the world.
Aah, my brain stopped short of making that metaphor funny.
Yes, that's what I was looking for, thank youaegix drakan said:Kinda like Magneto suing Doctor doom for taking over the world?
The funny part is I can see Doctor Doom opening his mail, noticing the court summons and then yelling "YOU HAVE ANGERED DOOM!!!"unacomn said:Yes, that's what I was looking for, thank youaegix drakan said:Kinda like Magneto suing Doctor doom for taking over the world?![]()
Explain to me how Google is going to block Bing from accessing anything on the internet. Google searches are not the same as Bing searches, and if you are advertising through Google, you buy the right for your search parameters to show up closer to the top.Further, Smith writes that Google wants to block access to certain types of book content for any search engine other than its own, restrict the data of advertisers that use Google's services, and says Google should not be allowed to prevent European websites from using search boxes other than Google's.
hmm that looks very skewed...TheEvilCheese said:Well, It isn't anywhere near a 95% market share, but it is still the most used browser worldwide by a fair bit.mjc0961 said:People still use Internet Explorer?!TheEvilCheese said:I hope Google Counter-Claims against Internet Explorer.
