Microsoft: Halo: Reach Will Be Biggest Game of 2010

It probably will seeing as most all Xbox owners have/do own a Halo game of some sort, same with Call of Duty. Will it deserve it's sales? Probably not but it might, I have some kind of faith Bungie can redeem itself, I won't be buying it though.

Well i love the halo universe but i don't think it will be the biggest game this year.

And if it is, it's a sad world.

Certainly the first half will likely belong to Mass Effect 2

Did ODST do that well? I wasn't really paying attention. Hell, is there even a single player game worth mentioning in all that Multiplayer BS?

Seriously though, unless Microsoft has seriously upgraded the Halo Engine, this game will look like complete ass when it's actually released.

For one thing, ODST was just an expansion. Second, Halo Reach is on a new engine, with completely new graphics and new designs. The story is like that of The Fall of Reach (a great read).

I suggest you look at some screen shots before you say it doesn't look updated.

Halo's getting a bit old, and not that every single gamer needs to have it. It was so, for a small while, with Halo 3, and Modern Warfare 2. But Reach will probably be surprisingly low in numbers.

I'm still waiting for the Halo game that lets me dual-wield turrets. Or swords. Or a turret in one hand and a sword in the other.

I think by calling Halo: Reach the biggest game of 2010 supports the theme and thoughts by Microsoft that another Halo game doing as well as Halo 3 would certainly be a reach. Way to go for reaching for those stars, you wheelchair bound wittle broders.

you know thats just plain offensive, on top of that I really don't think people get bungie as a brand, ODST wasn't designed or marketed as a massive project to set the world on fire, it was a brilliant 6 hour expansion made FOR THE FANS OF THE SERIES, if you don't like or know halo (evidently) then its not something for you to worry about, stick with all the other "cool" kids playing CoD or whatever (don't diss I enjoy the odd round of MW2 as well), Reach meanwhile is a complete revision of the series, new engine, new multiplayer, new characters and best of all, it takes place during the storyline of the greatest book in the series (or maybe that honour is reserved for the cole protocol... I never know).
Either way, what is important is that bungie make their games for the fans of their games, they crafted a brilliant story in a very interesting world with great mythology, and for those of us that live in it, it is a good time, for the rest of you, you don't even see that, so assuming that you are qualified to come up and tell us about our own freaking favourite franchise is just insulting, please, I am way too tired of this it is just getting really pointless

Ran away from Earth, Because the "Covenant" was attacking Earth, and then Halo 2 says to us, Dont worry, They have no idea where earth is, And people are left there scratching there heads, Honestly, Maybe you should think before flying off the handle just because you dont get any sleep, Halo: Reach will be shit end of story.

Also dont tell me i dont know what im talking about, I've played all the frigin games, Because i thought maybe just MAYBE bungie would regain there step after Halo 1, But no they just rammed the series into the ground.

I mean its like the creators of Halo, watched an episode of Dr. Who and said Oh my god thats a good idea, and ripped half the frigin show off.

Erhm I think you might have the timelines mixed up there, the PoA jumped to slipspace in the aftermath of the fall of reach among other UNSC ships as the planet was abandoned all jumps are done at a random vector in order to ensure that the location or significance of Earth was still unknown to the Covenant (also pointless quotation marks are pointless).

Once again I will rehash, attacking the game with an evident absolute lack of knowledge about the franchise is completely pointless, furthermore it isn't an insult to suspect that a game made by a developer of a series of incredibly popular, extremely brilliant games, with the backing of a massive corporation is likely to attain very high accolades this year and maybe be the "biggest game of 2010", because people will buy it, just as much as they will buy NV and ME2 (which I am attending the midnight launch of)
Finally personal attacks are not necessary, I haven't said anything to insult you I simply raised the point that your comment was offensive, IE: assuming that the core halo fan base is primarily 12 year old children, an age group with nowhere near the level of intellectual / emotional development to actually appreciate the Halo story as being anything more than a series of lights and explosions.

And the only reason I believe that Halo: Reach will be the best selling game of 2010, is because its' fanbase is huge. Now don't bring in "oh, but those are just 12 year-old fanboys" just stop. I hate people who think like that.
