Seriously non-plus'd.

Yea, maybe it was just the video, but when I heard about it and watched the first part, I figured they'd be sending a couple of spartans walking through a crowd of people in a bustling square, then the jetpack-spartan would fly down from a roof or something, they'd all get in a Warthog-looking Jeep and drive off, and everyone would have one of those "WTF did we just watch?" moments. Instead, two dudes in costumes surrounded by barricades, a couple of people watching... and the jetpack dude flies in from all of about 20 yards away. Woo.

So, it was nice... but it had the potential to be soooooo much more.

Maybe Sony should dress somebody as Kratos and hurl him from a building or something.
Or better yet, have him pick up the building and hurl that.

OT: That was pretty damn cool, makes me want to get Reach now :D

As much as I love the original (as shown in my avatar), these Spartan suits simply excel in terms of design.
As much as i love 40k... oh wait, i don't. So i will gladly point out that the original powered armour belongs to Starship Troopers and Robert A. Heinlein, not SPESS MAHREENS - even if the book didn't have pretty pictures back then.

That's it? Seriously? I'm sorry but that was fuckin' lame IMO.
I concur, it's not nearly as awesome as it could or should have been. DAMN YOU, SAFETY REGULATIONS!

Hm. Why do I always forget about that? Must be because the movie just had soldiers wearing regular armor. Anyway, keep your pants on, it was a mistake.

I'm going to join the chorus of people who don't particularly care about anything except the FREAKING JETPACK! Where is my jetpack!?

The stunt was a really cool idea, but I can't imagine what people with no idea what Halo was must have been thinking. Men wearing futuristic armor, holding giant weapons, and flying through the air isn't exactly something you see every day.
And that's why this is brilliant. They're gonna want to find out.

Cool videogame trailers interest people who like videogames. You see a really good trailer for a game (like Assassin's Creed Brotherhood), and every gamer will be looking into it.

You see Jetpacks, in real life, and EVERYONE will be looking into it. Even your grandma that was just walking about will wanna know what was the deal with those "space guys flying around". Brilliant marketing is brilliant.

A jetpack.
I repeat people: A motherfucking bonafide jetpack.

That guy was in a Spartan suit and fucking flying.
That could not be more jaw-droppingly, mindfuckingly awesome if the guy was on fire and was battling Cthulhu.

I'm not going to buy Halo: Reach, most likely. But I have to admit I want a bloody jetpack because of this.

This is more of an advert for merch than the game.
LMFAO that just made my day

The armour that does, admitedly in game sometimes look a little 'off', probably because of a little bit of the uncanny valley, looks much better on real people.

Where is the military when not having caught up to mainstream science fiction by now? ;)

Hopefully by the time I'm 20 they will have working exoskeletons that I can buy, customize it to look like Spartan Armour then buy a jetpack

Everyone who wants can copy my idea and we can raise a small militia to help fight wars!
Nightmare Armor

they make and sell custom armor sets.
They've been making Halo armor for a while now.

If you think a jetpack is a viable idea in combat, you're beyond foolish, carrying a large canister of explosive fluid on your back, whilst wearing armor that wont protect you from anything other than a plastic knife, I wont be at your funeral, mate.
