It looks very promising. Although I like to lie down on my bed and relax when playing, not jumping around like an idiot.

OK, you responded to the guys claiming that it was another eye-toy. Now will you please give a good argument against Yahtzee's claims that it will fail because it doesn't have any physical feedback? Because if you can't then there is no chance in hell I will accept the Natal as something good. Go through Yahtzee and you might get my support.
Remember the whole "PS3 won't have vibration" thing and the opposite defense from waaaaaaaay back?
No, I don't, but I take it that it didn't work out very good?

*points at vibrating controller that shipped with my PS3*
Yeah. But remember when it WASN'T going to have it?
*tries to remember*

I remember.. nothing. I think at that time period I shut myself out from the rest of the world and played on my PS2 all day.

Care to enlighten me?
*cough* I edited http://www.videogamer.com/news/playstation_3_controller_loses_vibration.html into my last post. *cough*
AND NOW I EDITED MY POST!

Because the edit-button is so pretty that I'd rather push it than write another comment.

Which means that this comment is rather worthless...

..

Six-axis sucks!
Yeah. And some people DEFENDED that lack of force feedback. Anyway, those defense apply here too.

PS3 AND 360 owners are both hypocrites. With the 360 having an advantage in RPGs, and the PS3 having the market cornered on Third Person Shooters (Ratchet & Clank, Uncharted) and graphix. Oh, and that Home thingy that everyone admits sucks.

They can deny all they want at how unalike Natal is to Eye Toy but I'm sorry Microsoft its going to be compared...a lot.

Yeah I have no doubt it will be better than Eye Toy...they put a lot of work (I think) into this thing

But original it is not...and there for will be compared to its predecessors.

The 360 has an advantage in RPG's?

Western RPG's then. Because I'm pretty sure most people consider the PS3 to have the best JRPG's

It has a stupid name and is the eyetoy released later and for more money.

I shall not buy one, that's for sure.

looks like either way someone is knocking someone off, ps3 copying the wii and 360 copying the eye toy, they venture in to territory that they were not meant to be in, just stick with the controllers and it will be fine. let the wii keep its motion control because that works for it and the PS3 and xbox should just stick with controllers because it works for them, anything else just seems tacked on and not as good.

The PS3 also had Valkyria Chronicles. And then we have White Knight Chronicles and FF coming out.

But yeah, this generation is not the generation for JRPG's...

This isn't regarding the topic of the thread, but about Natal in general. As some of you will know from my other posts on Natal threads, I am a staunch supporter of motion control gaming and I am really looking forward to Natal's release. And I'm probably one of the few people who hopes that Natal ends up as the permanent name for it (I just think it sounds cool, okay?). But my question is regarding the general capabilities of the device.

Quite simply, a lot of CGI effects in film and TV, as well as in game development, are done using motion sensing. I'm sure you've all seen on the 'Behind The Scenes' features on DVDs and whatnot the CGI team attaching all those little dots to actors wearing green jumpsuits and seeing them do all the motion capture in front of a green screen. My question is, could Natal be used as a replacement for traditional motion capture? A little tweaking of the technology and I'm sure that it could work pretty well for CGI purposes. After all, the PS3 is used for other ideas that it wasn't designed for (such as harnessing it's processing power to build supercomputers...).

Seems like they see this as something to make or break. Question will be in hw far they will go.

From looks of it they want this to succeed, badly.

...I still view it as eyetoy redux

We can see when you move your hand, when you move your feet, we can track your body. I can stand in front of this sensor and it can recognize my face and know if it's me, or my brother or my sister.
Anyone else think that sounds more than a little, you know...creepy?

*slap*

Don't ever say that!

It's more of the new gameboy anyway. The new PS2 is still the PS2!
