If you think about it, Microsoft is competing with just about every major technological front there is; and much like the console wars you could say Microsoft is trying to one up just about everyone
Examples:

Internet explorer competes with Safari, Firefox, Opera, and Chrome

Bing! is up against Google

360 and it's bouts with Nintendo and Sony (not to mention project Natal)

Microsoft's Zune and Apple's iPod

Windows Vista/7 and Mac OS X snow leopard

I find this to be interesting is all, Microsoft trying to take over certain markets (while both failing and succeeding)

if i missed anything else feel free to tell

The same could also be said for Google.

If you consider Microsoft have been competing on more fronts for longer is it actually Google that's 'warmongering'?

If you look at all that as IT, it's only one front. Also you're company is more likely to survive if you have more than one product, you only need to start worrying when they start supermarkets and start competing with Coca-Cola and Disney.

You'll never get lost in the Google-mobile. You can also find porn sites in mere seconds.

Isn't calling it Warmongering a bit far? I'd say good business practice is more apt.

Yeah its called business.
If one company can make your product better than you, expect it to happen.

They are out to make as much money as possible, like any other good business.

These are alll just products for a single company in the Tech Industry.

Much like Kraft has Phily Cheese etc.

I think the company is a visionary one to be honest, even say this about google. They find some of the greatest talent and put out things today that we take oh so for granted.

Google Maps anyone? I live in Vancouver, havent done for long, so something like this to not only to point out bus schedules but driving times of the buses etc, brilliant.

The same goes for Windows, the OS. Just look at the functionality we have today and at how easy it is for us to do, well anything, on these things.

Gates is one of the worlds true visionaries and I hope that the impact he put in the technology world helps fuel inovation in the future.

On a side note, I think the Jobs is the new Gates, anyone agree?
