Microsoft to announce "Rebirth" of popular Xbox title

My money is on KotOR or Battlefront. Battlefront 2 was the second most played XBOX original game on XBOX live every week, and if its not Halo, then my money is on Battlefront. There is a lot of money to be made there.

Well that computer and videogames link already said it wasn't halo so unless they lied to us, while I'm not going to say I believe them, it was already said a new halo was in the works. Second that background is an office blueprint which is either a subtle hint as being the layout of the developer's building, but I doubt they would be that subtle, which means its a direct hint for the game, which knocks out several of the posted games, e.g. KOTOR, Republic Commando, and Beyond Good and Evil. Giving the nature of the magazine, it is unlikely that any cult classic or really great game will be the one they're talking bout, most likely it will be some mainstream classic from the beginning of the period where the casuals got into gaming. All of which leaves me stumped as to what it could be.

Maybe Shadowrun??!? That does look like circuitry on the cover, and Shadowrun was cyberpunk.

I don't think many people would consider Shadowrun to be the one of the best games ever...
That was already on 360 anyway, this says being remade for 360.

Plus, the cover appears to be an architectural drawing rather than a circuit diagram.

I don't think it's Halo CE. I mean... they've pretty much admitted that they're gonna remake it pretty soon and I don't think they would be as secretive as this. But if it is, well I <3 Bungie but I am ready and willing to shun Halo if Microsoft ruins it. Which, lets be honest, is most likely.

It's gonna be their Call of Duty. New version of the same game every year or less.

To those quoting SW:Battlefront 3 or Republic Commando... don't get my hopes up... Every time someone mentions Battlefront 3 I can't help but stare until its offically proven false. Again.

Hope you don't mind DustyDrB, but I've whittled your post down to that one sentence. Everyone take a closer look at that "circuitry". Look at that layout, clearly you can make out tables, computer here and there, doors, etc.

Give up? That (well to me anyways) looks like the area where you have to find Meryl to continue onto Psycho Mantis. Even the green color of the layout reminds me of the soliton radar, all this from Metal Gear Solid 1. I'll scour around the internet and see if I can find some radar stills from that particular area to compare them with the magazines background.

Couldn't find any pictures from that particular area but here are a few goods ones for comparison. Also, only pictures that are that clear are from MGS 2. Also, that isn't the area I thought it was, but I'm still holding fast that we are looking at a Metal Gear Solid soliton radar image.

I like the way you're thinking, although not being familiar with the Metal Gear series I'll take your word on that. Someone else said Rainbow Six but true Rainbow Six games have been well a truely killed off. No, I'm guessing it's a hands-on with the X-Com FPS. Boo. Hiss.

Anyway, that is most certainly a floorplan so, based on that what do you out there think it could be?

Oh and sad to say but yes last I heard Mechwarrior was under a development cloud after Harmony Gold swung their fun-stopping lawyers into action and hit the developers with a cease and desist order because there was a Warhammer in the trailer. Bastards.

EDIT: Oh and the best reason it would be X-Com? They said one of the best games ever, and X-Com is the best game ever.

And yeah, we are certain to see more Halo in the future but that teaser isn't for that, like Microsoft would announce a game like that in a UK only magazine.

I didn't have a bloody clue about the browser game. Hmmmm...
And yeah the next Halo would be hyped right over to the moon ^^
