Thinking of getting a Gamecube for my birthday, seeing as their only about £25 now.

Anyway to the point, what games do you recommend getting?

Don't say:
Wind Waker
Mario Kart Double Dash
Resident Evil 0
Turok
Luigi's Mansion

I already have these games from when my friend gave me them when I had a Wii years ago.

Thanks in advance.

Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem -- Scares the s*** out of you and then rubs it all over your face. It is made of win in all the right ways.

Harry Potter Quidditch World Cup -- No, I'm not trolling. This game is actually halfway decent, once you get past the boring Hogwarts cup. The arenas were rather impressive, even with the graphical limitations that the Gamecube had

Baden Kaitos and Baden Kaitos Origins -- Beautiful RPG that uses a card game style battle engine. Fascinating game and amazing score.

F-Zero GX -- High speed hover racing at over 2000 km/h. What could go wrong?

Gauntlet Dark Legacy -- Okay, so I may have the ps2 version, but it's a great party game.

Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. Fantastic games.

Also, Spiderman 2 (the movie tie-in) is pretty damn good.

Smash Bros Melee, Beyond Good and Evil, and Metal Gear: Twin Snakes if you haven't played the original.
And weren't Viewtiful Joe and Killer Seven available on the gamecube, too? Never played them myself, but their reputation precedes them.

Also, Pikmin and Animal Crossing were on here, if you like more tedious, involved gameplay. I found Pikmin pretty depressing, personally...

There are exactly two reasons why I still keep my old GameCube hooked up to my TV. Those reasons are Eternal Darkness
and Skies of Arcadia.

That said, Mario Kart Double Dash is a blast too!

Smash Bros, Pikmin and Smuggler's Run. If you play multiplayer. Some people like it some people don't, the former are right, the latter are wrong, I am amongst the former, and you should probably buy it. And you can call it Snuggler's Bum, which sounds a bit gay.

Word of advise, make sure you check the laser, cause those thigns go bad. they're not hard to replace really (both from the money standpoint and the installation, if you know what you're doing) but just saying.

OT:

Battalion Wars

Pikmin (1 and 2)

SSBM (its obligatory)

I found Custom Robo to be rather good, if you can get past the story and its generic-ness

Army Men RTS (say what you want, I thought it was fun for an RTS)

Alien Hominid was supposed to be good, and my friend said it was, so if that means anyhting to you.

RE4 (yes, RE4 came out on the gamecube. it came out on the gamecube first. Get it, its good, even if it is the gamecube)

If your a pokemon fan, XD was... alright. though i always see it as Pokemon Laughing face now (which is really enjoyment on its own right).

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance

HP: quidditch world cup was surprisingly fun to be honestly. I enjoyed it probably more then any of real sports game on the Jesus lunch box

Aquaman: battle for atlantis Joking. Seriously, dont buy it. its horrible beyond worlds

Killer7

Midway Arcade treasures (god I loved it. Rampart, Smash TV, Rampage, Sinistar, Joust, Marble Madness, ugh, enough cant be said for how good this game was and how much I played it).

Rouge Squadron 2 was really good (I thought three was kinda shaky, but then again, I was playing 2 more, so I probably just couldnt get past how I didnt need 3 cause 2 seemed perfect)

the Star Fox games are oka, hit and miss I suppose.

If you're into it, YGO Falsebound Kingdom was supposed to be amazing (sadly I missed out, though dont plan on getting new and getting hte cards, its rather unlikely)

and I think one of the tony hawk games was supposed to be good, but i dont know which, cause i just dont carea bout that game series.

...

And of course you have to get the <url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Game_Boy_Player>GBA attachment to the bottom, cause that opens up the GBA catalog and some of the games work in conjunction with each other, while others can just be played on TV, which is fun for Pokemon games to be on a bigger screen, and Kirby" nightmare in dreamland.

I'd get all the Zelda, Metroid and Resident Evils you can for Gamecube... There are quite a lot. Eternal Darkness and Tales of Symphonia are good to. Everyone esle has pretty much said the essentials I can think of.

Going by my own (albeit meager collection):

The RE1 remake is quite nice - although I broke a controller playing it.
If you're into JRPGs, Tales of Symphonia and Baten Kaitos are decent. Other than that? Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance was pretty good.
