Despite it? It could well be
because of that very fact. This is, as you say, one of the first few, so it would make sense if they did not well understand the timeframes and pressures they would be under. Untrodden ground makes it more difficult, not easier, a lot of the time.
I don't doubt that Inafune (as well as the ex-Rare employees) will be happy with their decision in the long run, and so will we, in all likelihood. Hiccups like this are regrettable, but they're a small price to pay for less publisher interference.
