Hmm, Disney had this same problem with Britney and Christina. I think they've come to expect it and keep a replacement ready when one of their Artificially Created stars goes rogue. Also, I don't understand why people are upset about the outfits, you see more at the beach. I would be more concerned about the dance moves. That's something I don't understand. You see it on the news if high school cheerleaders add "provocative" moves but some "star" does it and nobodsy says a word...odd.

This always happens with child/young teen stars. Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake all went "sexy" after having appeared on the Mickey Mouse Club show thingy constantly.

Miley Cyrus is hot, if Disney drop her then someone will snap her up instantly because she's a big hit. Sure, it's all a bit risqué not wearing much in her shows that are aimed at impressionable young girls but I'm sure they're finding much worse on TV.

It has to do with America's fucked up rating system for movies and tv. Basically you could show someone get their head ripped off and force fed to a dying baby on tv, but it is deemed highly unappropriate/too much if a woman were to show her breasts.

She's nearly 18, and the record company realise that they can't market her only to pre-teens indefinitely. Soon the next teen sensation will come along and knock her off that particular perch so to retain market viability she needs to gradually shift over to the "adult" audience, and that means a corresponding gradual "adultification" of her image, so she is more appealing to... well, adults. It happened with Britney too, it's happened with other pop artists, it will happen with whoever comes after Miley too, this is a pretty standard process that's happening. Hollywood Records (a Disney imprint) won't boot her off the label though, unless she does something really extreme and embarrassing for them. Remember that Insane Magnet Posse were on Hollywood Records once and they're a lot more explicit than Miley at her pole-dancing, thigh-revealing best.
