I beg to differ. A Mayonnaise cake has no milk in it (no dairy at all in fact) and it is delicious with milk. In case you are wondering, the Mayonnaise serves as a replacement for the milk and eggs (Mayonnaise is just eggs and oil that have been emulsified), and was created in an era when fresh milk and eggs were hard to come by (Mayonnaise serves to preserve eggs in much the same way Beer preserves grain) and has no mayonnaise flavor. The resulting cake is fairly dense and incredibly moist and, unless baked with expert care, is prone to falling apart.thaluikhain said:Perhaps it's because those things are made using milk?Veldie said:Who loves milk? and why dues it go so well with cake, donuts, and brownies and so on :3
