"Your own worst enemy". Ain't it a *****. Ever had one of those times when your own mind seems hell bent against you?

See, as you may know from the sliding scale of coherency in my posts and my self admittent bitching on the issue, I am on summer holiday, three weeks in, and I'm getting rather bored. Now I have come to a particular problem of me being bored; My imagination goes into overdrive, and not in a good way. I can think up something horrible for every dark corner, I can take any horror premise and bring it to vivid life in my mind, all before I can stop myself. I've had to make efforts to remove any "ammo" when I feel like sleeping.

I usually watch a DVD when I go to bed. Bad habit, I know, but quite simply, I have trouble getting to sleep any other way. Being a horror fan, most of my DVDs are just that, horror, or at the very least, macabre. It's gotten harder and harder to find stuff that won't set me off. Some nights, I've spent an hour just trying to think of what to watch. I felt like watching fringe tonight, but I could only find one disc of my season one boxset that won't trigger a massive load of excuses to stay up reading tvtropes (which, ironically, is also fuel for my rebel brain; I've spent many a night torturing myself by going through the nightmare fuel/high octane nightmare fuel sections and searching things up on youtube). I really felt like watching the episode with the were-hedgehog thing, but it was on the same disc as the one where people's orifices seal themselves up; A definite stopper of sleep.

Captcha: Jack be nimble. And now I'm thinking of the most horrific way to modernise spring heeled jack.

Great.

Eh, I usually see my dog in the corner of my eye all the time. And I'm all like "what's my dog doing here!?" but it's not there, it's just me being weird.
Yup, that's a thing there.

My brain likes to remind me of hilarious jokes, pictures, and what-not at the worst possible times. Typically it's when somebody I'm with has just finished telling a story about something that happened to them that is not necessarily funny. And then I look like a sociopathic retard for smiling and snickering in the middle of a serious conversation.

I wanted to go to sleep at 12am tonight but my mind wouldn't let me. I finally got to sleep at 2am but fifty five minutes later I'm awake after a freaky dream. It's now 5:52am, looks like I'll have to try for an all nighter because if I got to sleep now I won't wake up until gone 3pm.

I always argue with myself, helps me decide on what to do. Sometimes a voice, very quietly, speaks on how I should stop having my fun and whatnot... That one gives me headaches!

I forget... like, everything.

At some point or another, I will forget to do something, even something I do every single other day. That or I'll forget someone's name, or appointments, or whatever. In my line of work, that can cause some problems. I can tell I'm far more forgetful than the average person because I have yet to find someone who isn't surprised and angered by how often I forget things.

The worst part is being able to perfectly remember unimportant things like Stone Cold Steve Austin (kayfabe) getting thrown onto a table by the Rock in the ONE episode of WWF I watched when I was a kid, but forgetting my own Mom's birthday for the first time in my 23 years of life.

Now, I can use memory tricks to remember really important stuff when I need to, but the deluge of everyday things I forget is too much, so I can't really do anything to help it. Of course, nobody seems to like that excuse. -_-

INteresting...

While reading, the first thing I tought was:"He´s gonna mention John Dies at The End". That tought turned to: "Or at least he read it" and eventually "Ok, close enough"

My mind mostly shuts down during the most embarassing situations.
Example: Q - How old are you again dude?
A - Huuu... I was born the tenth of September, so...
Q - What year?
A - ...
Q - Weirdo.

I've always had a strong imagination that dislikes me, and as for your story

I like to think my mind is in Borderlands mode. I get tired at night, then SECOND WIND! For example, I need to wake up in 3 hours, but I've been trying to get to sleep for a few hours now.

Other than sleep-related rebellion, my mind loves thinking of the most absurdly awkward, stupid things and making me say them. I then immediately realize I'm an idiot, and people tend to ask if I'm drunk. It's a nice combination of saying stupid things with an aftertaste of self-loathing.

My mind doesn't mess with me by making me scared, it just occasionally makes the worst decisions possible. Usually romance-related ones.

"Oh, that girl you have liked for the last 4 years told you she likes you? Better not go out with her, focus on this other girl who doesn't like you so you end up single and full of regret."

"What's that? The girl you're seeing is using 'I love you' the same way most people use a comma? Within the first week of dating? Don't worry man, I'm sure she's legit."

Scumbag brain, man. Scumbag brain.
