I think some of the weirdest endings i have ever seen in a movie was that of Akira.
Neo Tokyo explodes, and apparently Tetsuo dies, but a new universe is made, and Tetsuo is...GOD? ?
Or the ending of Resistance 2.
Hale gets psychic powers, blows up the flagship, and then crashes. And when they wake up, Capelli kills Hale and the moon is on fire? And then Hale was a Chimera? What's your favorite mindfuck endings?

Mulholland Drive was pretty messed up - then again, it is a David Lynch film. I also found Assassin's Creed 2's ending to be incredibly confusing and vague.

Metal Gear Solid 2. /thread?

Seriously though. That game has the biggest mindfuck of all times in an ending, which is exactly what the creators intended obviously. Whatever or not it is a good ending is a whole other story.

Are you talking about that extended codec sequence just before the final boss battle, or the phone conversation your hear between Otacon and Snake at the very end? Both were awesome, but there was significant amounts of mind-fuckery in both.

F.E.A.R. 2's ending, I don't think I need to explain why.
What's there not to get? You make a ghost girl somehow instantly pregnant while inside a computer simulation while a nuke goes off. Simple.

Pretty much everything from when Raiden enters Arsenal onward is a long series of mind-fucking. The fourth wall is breached, Snake turns to relying on joke items from previous games (infinite ammo bandana), everyone backstabs everyone (Snake does it, then promptly goes to help you again, just for one), their powers fail and are dismissed as plebthonium devices only to work again even when the device is turned off. Is Rose real? Does the Colonel exist? Is the dialogue taking place aimed at Raiden or the player? Is the whole VR/Recreation of Shadow Moses aimed at making the player or Raiden a new Solid Snake?

The whole thing with the Patriots is relatively easy to follow compared to most other things going on in there.

Rose is real, the Colonel isn't (You see Rose later, so that's obvious; as for the Colonel, he's simply an artificial recreation of Campbell - he was partially formulated by Raiden's expectations, and since Raiden had gone through the Shadow Moses VR training, he was undoubtedly expecting someone along the lines of Campbell). Although some of the dialogue from the Colonel is aimed at the player (as a joke), the twist ending of the "Shadow Moses Recreation" is aimed at Raiden; that's when you've exited Arsenal Gear (kind of) and then you re-enter story mode. The dialogue directed at you as the player is a result of Arsenal Gear's malfunction.... unless I completely missed something.

Saw it coming a mile away. They hinted at it the entire movie, and not in a subtle you watch it a second time knowing the ending and you see it way. They practically stabbed you in the eyes with the idea until your brains leaked out your ears.

I didn't like the end of this season of Dexter. I couldn't believe they would do that.
