Yes, we should all give into the mindless masses because clearly they have no upper brain functions and simply do what they are told to do. Meanwhile all the geniuses of the world sit on their computers thinking how superior they are on Friday nights.
It seems you have misunderstood my opinions. I do not see the "masses" as mindless slaves to the corporational giants, I simply do not understand why some people think that it's ok to have a go at someone simply because they do not share their point of view or that of the majority. I do not find it fair that ingenuity is often denied due to them thinking differently to how someone else and their friends do.
Yeah, bujt alot of the time the majority is right, whilkst it's the intelligentsia that are in desperate need of pruning. And by pruning I mean complete destruction.
I mean lets take Kant's categorical imperative ... something that governs us all (Well, all right thinking individuals). This is something the majority feels is right, and that we as 'mindless sheep' should reaffirm our attachment to a common collective will and good for all Mankind in our daily lives.
Most people (grand majority) are decent, hardworking, affable people. But it's a point in their favour when someone attempts to subvert this nature in favourof someething we knowingly feel is wrong or unjust in civil society. Doesn't work all the time, usually because of nationalism, religion or a collection of the two ... but for most of us in civil society with basic freedoms we understand that a common good is something that can, and should, be above criticism.
Whilst the entire world feared Nuclear holocaust, the most intelligent people in the world helped make nuclear weapons more fearsome ... for example. And as such were universally criticised by the grand majority.
Similarly, the people that worked on Unit 561 during the Japanese occupation of Mainland China ... smartest guys of their generation ... even their own countrymen hated them and the world universally opposed their existence once it became known.
Thinking outside the box of conventional thought is both a blessing and a possible threat for us 'mindless sheep'.
