I don't think it'll get nearly as many, since everyone who wanted it would have already bought it, and anyone who hasn't bought it is going to be looking at a price hike.

I don't think it'll skyrocket, because anyone that wants Minecraft goes and buys the beta, I don't think people are waiting on the full game, the beta is regarded as the full game, it just evolves now and then. I'm looking forward to the adventure update myself, once all that is added I think Minecraft will be pretty much finished, except for debugging. I'd be happy if after the adventure update, Notch and co just concentrated on bugs and performance.

What we will see though, is a massive boost when the 360 version is released, and any iOS version as well - Notch is going to be swimming in gold like old Scrooge McDuck.

i love the game....best game ever?....in my own opinion i just cant give that title to any game (lol i just couldnt make a decision on the worlds greatest game...there are a lot of great games out there), but all in all i say a job very well done even for a beta game. I give my congrats, and much love for the creators. Also...TY, TY very much for making a game thats so hard for me to put down in my free time.

You can register to the website without buying the game. There's also a free classic version people can play.

Not exactly. The number of registered users that have not purchased the game are free to play users. They have access to the free to play version of the game, which is purely a sandbox version without any sort of survival features.

Also, one of the reasons why MineCraft has become so popular as it is, is mainly due to the fact that players can easily pirate it. Notch has been somewhat positive about piracy. Read his thoughts on it.

Most likely, it never will. Notch talked with Value about putting Minecraft on Steam; however, the cut of the sales they were asking for was not acceptable to Notch. For him, it's much easier to just have people go to his website. They don't need middle men when the product is so simple.
