so minecraft is out of a super long beta,so what is changed since beta: now you have xp (but it there is no use for it), you can make potions.

thinking about not that much was changed since alpha just a hole bunch of tweaks. is notch scared to change things to massive backlash or can

he not think of new things. and it really doesn't feel like completed game i personally like the game because what is online with no mods and

texture packs it can get really boring . so what do you think is it really done do you accept it as is or do you want more

p.s im new here so helloooooooo

Actually, you use xp to enchant stuff, and if I may direct you to here -> http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Version_history then you'll see what's happened in the last update, and every update before.

You use the exp to enchant weapons and armour I believe. Correct me if I'm wrong though.
Hai!

In all seriousness, I would like more. Towards the end they sorta slowed down on adding new stuff you can build with and added more monsters and stuff like that, which is cool and all, but for me Minecraft is a game for building heaps of stuff and trying to defend it from the mobs, and not going out to kill all the mobs and building stuff in between killing sprees. I want more stuff to build with... That's just me though anyway.

well in all honesty thats it its not like you need it the minecraft monsters are easy to kill as long as you notice them you dont really need stronger weapons and armor

I wasn't saying you needed enchantments, just pointing out the fact that you use xp for them. And if you're saying that "that's it" in regards to updates, you obviously haven't even opened the link I put.

Wait, you're counting villages, the end and the dragon as tweaks?!
Then what was the last actual change? In your opinion.

(On a side note, the topic name doesn't match the topic. You say "minecraft out of beta but not really" but your actual gripe is how you think nothings changed since alhpa.)

So play something else for a while.

I would like more, but when all's said I done I paid for this game over a year ago, and if Mojang never add another line of code again it will still be the best £10 I have ever spent on a game, and I do not understand why people who have made a single one-off purchase of a game get resentful that the FREE updates aren't frequent or extensive enough.

First thing Minecraft is a toy not a game, so if you are waiting for it to change into Skyrim... tough luck, it never will.

I would also like it to become an adventure game once I cocked around enough with the building, but this is "create your own adventure" only, now you either accept it or move on to others that tickle your fancy.

i think the last game changing addition is multiplayer (yes that far)
and about the title i said minecraft is out of beta BUT NOT REALLY because it still feels incomplete

i am mad because i feel cheated i got a alpha because it seams cool and it has a discount if i buy it now so why wait but as time goes one it staid in the same state. plus what you said about free updates is just sad if the game isn't done do you need to more if you already purchased it you can check evrey beta ever i promise you none will have such a sad and short list of changes between beta to full game

hum, no. the vast majority of games have very little changes between beta and release. code stability is improved and bugs are fixed, but changes in game features is more the exception than the norm.

If you think that the addition of multiplayer is the last real change the game had, then you really don't know much at all about minecraft itself or game development in general.

Then what do you want to see, Mr Ideas man? And try to pick things that there aren't already plugins for.

Grats. I am new here too. Just made this account to say this-

If you are new, you shouldn't begin by making an *** of yourself and going out of your way to troll more senior members about subject matter on which you are clearly uneducated. Furthermore, if you are going to do so anyway, you could at least try to spell the occasional word correctly, to say nothing of grammar.

Other than that, welcome aboard :D
Btw, I was just playing minecraft before I came here to check if Yachtzee has reviewed Skyrim yet. More focus on building over adventuring would be nice. But I just wish he would stop making me start new worlds!! My pride and joy just froze over with the new snow biome.

As long as it's in beta any criticism can be fobbed off as 'it's not done yet?'

Not that I'm cynical or anything.

Although it does feel to me like Notch has been sitting around not changing much for quite a while now, just the occasional tweak while people still talk about major problems and glitches.

So hey, he's at least got the mindset of a true game designer now! He just needs to release each tweak as 'MC:2' 'M3' 'MC 4: Retribution' 'M5C6' and charge full price every time.

What part of releasing the game means that Notch has to add a ton of ground-breaking features? It's released when there's enough features for it to be considered a complete game.
