Minecraft on Xbox is asking to be trolled, people just able to pop in an out of your singleplayer game (unless you set it to private).

Have you been trolled on Minecraft? What awesome thing have you built that some moron just came and destroyed?

I used to play a lot on open no restrictions servers (On PC obviously) but could never actually get something completed because some jackass will just casually walk through your house, making his own pathway...

You can just jump into people's games in Xbox Minecraft? Anyone have a Herobrine skin I could borrow?

Just to test the dickishness of people, I once built a house in a no-restriction zone of a server. I worked at it for about an hour, including resource. I wanted to see how long it took till my stuff was robbed, and how great the vandalism to the house was.

1 day later: Everything in the chest was gone.

2 days later: The windows had been smashed.

3 days later: Random block of the walls and floor had been destroyed and the door was missing.

So basically, it proved my theory, that people are dicks. I expected the stuff in the chest to be taken, but smashing the windows? That's just pointless vandalism.

Yup, by default games are open. Unfortunately, there are no custom skins (as yet)

You are assigned a skin by the order in which you join the game. I'm always Tennis Steve :(

I'd say that the people on the server you are on are pretty restrained. Anything i have built in a no restrictions server is gone within an hour!

I built it pretty far out in the wilds so that I'd at least be able to finish it before anyone tried to mess with it, so there weren't loads of people passing through, which is probably why it took so long.

Well, it only takes a single menu option before you load the game to make it private. You can even take the game completely offline if you want.

But the worst incident of trolling I've had so far is when one of my friends went down into my mines and took every single torch down. Luckily I could reload the save, but I would've had to probably just abandon that mine if I couldn't, it was huge by that point.

This is true, but most people just leave it set to open.

Oooof, guessing that shaft was creeper city. could have just done a quick run through with torches and waited for them to de-spawn?

Well only people belonging to the friend's list of one of the people in the game can join, but otherwise yeah...

Had a git set the place on fire.
Said place was built on top of trees.
And made almost entirely out of wood.

Luckily we were able to reload the world while only losing an hour or two, but it was still quite annoying.
Was also the first time I've ever had to actually deal with Minecraft dickery, since before I just played PC with my brother (Which I cannae do right now for reasons).

I just call him Gay Steve, and on occasion, Homo Faggins.

The only time I was trolled was when my friend took the lava out of my personal incinerator and put it in my bedroom, effectively burning down my 3 story wooden mansion.

I have some friends who actually set up a griefing team, I think I might have given them the idea too when I told one about team avolition (well known griefers who make video's). They aren't very good yet. For anyone who is actually interested type in DARKV0iDGRIEFING in to youtube. Don't like advertising but they have very few views yet.

People are complaining because their structures are being destroyed? When they could have prevented it?

Hmm. I think I know how to stop the things you've made from being destroyed. You have to start your world offline or private. Jesus Christ.

I always like to think that being griefed is part of the game since you pretty much have to let it happen because of privacy settings. Don't want stuff destroyed? Don't let people you don't know in your game. I love griefing and being griefed because it pretty much changes the rules of the game. Take team Avolition:

This was one of my favourites, Big Brother just resets everything they do but not naturally occurring things like trees growing so they make a super fast growing tree mod that leaves a bunch of trees in the middle of random buildings that can't be deleted because the buildings are also made of wood. Abusing glitches, applying exploits and thinking of ways to counter them are all really fun, and the ability to mod the pc version just makes this better.

My friend was playing when a bunch of people randomly joined his game, took everything out of his chests and dug a tunnel under the house he built and filled it with dynamite

Why the hell would they do that? Honestly, it's not the xbox version that's asking to be trolled it's...those people.

Anyway, I don't know how different the pc version is, but on this one you have to manually save every so often. Sounds annoying, but what with minecraft not being a constant action packed thrill, I don't often forget to save every couple of in game days or so. So, basically, I was able to reload the save, leaving me with a creeper free mine.

Also, it particularly pissed me off because I pride myself on making my creations as secure as possible. The mines were located in the second layer of a three wall defense, so having any darkened areas, let alone an entire mine, bothered me to say the least.

Obsidianised my house. It was a coordinated effort on behalf of 5 friends to collect the amount needed. They removed my bed but all of my stuff was in there. Now I need to make a diamond pickaxe, as part of the troll they hid all their stuff somewhere so I cant take it, and mine out my house.

I'm playing on this server that simulates the apocalypse, with a chat that has a range of only 100 blocks and no rules. As a rule when I play by myself on that server, I never ever build above a height of 40. The server supports 120 players, so you get gangs of 30+ people, all focused on raiding, pillaging and griefing. I have to use Skype to talk to my friends when they visit my base, in fear of someone hearing me. Other bases, entirely or partly above ground, completely destroyed for no reason. They didn't even steal my stuff.
Every now and again when I scour the above world, searching for the few groups of people who protect each other from griefing, I come across abandoned fortresses, castles oozing with lava, some foundations and a broken radio tower. I built my rather large base, now spanning thousands of blocks, directly under the main base of the biggest anti-raid organization on the server, hidden by a door submerged in lava. It's all gone now. It's lonely down there, on a pile of riches but no one to share them with.
