Could you elaborate, possibly? I'm thinking of buying it but i'm a bit tight for money at the moment and i'd like to know if it is worth it and if it will be hours and hours of fun or not. So what's it like?

It is hours and hours of fun if you like collecting minerals to make items to collect more minerals faster and then making stuff from those minerals like buildings.

Edit: I honestly really like the game. Multiplayer and singleplayer but it isn't for everyone. Don't get it if you expect a story line, because there isn't one.

You can try it for free before buying it. I think you only have to pay for the beta and not the alpha...and I think even then its only like $15.

lol, you really made a thread about this? xD

I love it to death, it is the ultimate sandbox game ever made.
If you get bored of it, you're doing it wrong.

To answer your question yes. It will be hours of fun and i recomend it. It doesn't cost as much as big budget triple a games but it's proberly better than most of them. You will find your self playing for hours on end mining and watching out for creepers (exploding cactus). Make sure you look up the FAQ for it because they haven't put in a tutorial but you certainly need one. Advice? Build quickly before sun goes down and always be working on somthing to quote yatzee. Seriously think of your dream house and build it. If you do this it will be worth it. Sure the graphics are shit house but if you can ignore that you will have a great time.

Why don't you try it out for yourself. If your hearing about it from every one then do you think it's because it's a good game or do you think every ones brains have fallen out? You will spend hours of your life playing it and when you do finally rip your self from the computer you will find that you have missed a few meals and that there are strange cactie out side your house.

Fair point, But like every good gamer, I -have- played the game before I opened my mouth =) But I just felt I got a better feeling of accomplishment from painting minitures. Building lego with my kids, And Spore! All with alot more variety and -play element- than a few pre-set cubes that fall into formation I might add.

I think Minecraft has the 'Big Brother' effect.
People only watched that awful TV show so they could have something to talk about at work the next morning. Same as Minecraft. Alot of poor kids are just playing with it so they can fit in with their 'elite' gaming buddies these days,
