I really like Minecraft, but mining obsidian is ssssooooooo tedious. And this is our topic, what very minor stuff in games do you hate?

When pause menus in games have either music or ambient noise playing in the background. It means that if I ever want to take a break from the game by just pausing it for while to watch internet videos or whatever, I first have to fish around for the remote to mute the tv.

This is something that became especially annoying to me once I finally found a game that doesn't do this; Dead Space 2. Seriously, Dead Space 2's pause screen is dead silent (which is fitting, I suppose). It's beautiful. Why doesn't every game do this? Clearly, if I'm pausing the game, it means I want the game to stop.

Dieing like 50 times before I beat the Boss. I'm glad there isn't permadeath in every game but kind of cheapens the experience.

- Ellie's random humming in The Last of Us. I understand what they were going for, but holly shit, does it not work in any way apart from to annoy you.

- Ashley's 'pervert' remark in Resident Evil 4. Yes, I know the game is Japanese, but this series while silly never opted for these types of shenanigans. And while the cutscenes are goofy, in-game everything is generally played very straight. So to have Ashley suddenly go 'Eek, you pervert' when I'm protecting her from a horde of twisted, mutated cultists, it kinda shatters the tension.

The worst part I think is the first time I noticed it. You're in some building and you can literally see a Clicker hiding in a shed just outside, and she hums. Then she also tries whistling. Well, at least the story reflects the AI being ignored by the enemies while in stealth mode.

OT: The fucking flying boat enemies in Bayonetta. I'm pretty sure on my first playthrough I died about thirty times (without exaggeration 'cause I suck at those types of games) against the triple flying boat threat.

At least those claw monsters with the insta-grab attack only have a few methods of making you cry.

In Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, once you have a saved game, the option to continue that game appears on the main menu below the option to start a new game. So if you're keen to boot it up and jump in as quick as possible, you might miss it entirely and start a new game. Continue game, once activated, should always be at the top of the menu.

And in various games, when you scroll down any kind of list, get to the bottom, and pressing down does not return the selection to the very top of the list.

Also- pausable cutscenes. i am so sick of missing content because I got distracted and wasn't sure if you could pause during a cutscene, tried it out, and had the whole thing skipped on me.

Going further, when games decide that for some lists they'll allow the "up from the very top gets you to the bottom/down from the very bottom gets you to the top" scrolling, while not allowing it for other lists that would benefit from this feature.

I love me some fighting games but holy crap do most of them have terrible UI designs. This can range from terrible button configuration utilities to poorly ordered menus to having too much fluff before and/or after the matches to click through. I just want to throw a fireball at some fool, game. Why are you making getting to that point so damn difficult?

Dropdown lists that aren't a box of text aka takes forever to scroll to bottom (vanilla Skyrim, SimCity 4).
E / controller 4-button diamond.top = ACTION / USE, ALWAYS. (Many, many, MANY titles)
Games that disregard the 7ujm boundary ie. you shall't not assign shortcuts to any keys to the right of the 7-u-j-m boundary. (Starcraft 1, Dragon Age)

Hoo boy. I've been playing The Witcher, and it's filled with them.
Slow interface, long loading screens, time-wasting fetch quests, tons of running from place to place, immersion-breaking NPC behavior, random crashing, embarrassingly distasteful interactions with female NPCs (except when it's played up for laughs)...
The only reason I'm still playing is because the story is super engrossing. I must find out what happens next. Also, the moral decisions you make really matter (and are REALLY hard to make). This is one of those games that's filled with flaws, but excels at the things it does well. I may be anxious to get to the end, but this game convinced me to get the book so I can see more of Geralt's escapades.

The Blazblue franchise is full of double-edged swords.
Lovable characters, but iffy plot;
the characters talk a lot during fights, giving them more character than most fighting games, but this also means they often repeat stuff too frequently;
The visuals are very anime, which can be good or bad depending on your preferences;
The story is more developed then the stories is most other fighting games, but it's also a bit of a mess.

Basically, I like the good more than I dislike the bad. I really enjoy playing Blazblue, but I'd also love to see an Honest Trailer for it on youtube.

I agree on a lot of your points I really didnt know what was going on with the plot I mean I had an idea but it felt a bit convoluted however after watching the anime it made more sense and the way they changed how it was told in Chronophantasma made it a lot easier to follow and more enjoyable imo.

Namco removing Siegfrieds Cannonball move in every SC game after the original. It was my favourite move in the whole game I just loved it and then it was gone. Nightmare has a cannonball move but its different and is no where near as cool as the original. So its very minor really but it really pissed me off.

It is ever explained how *spoiler* Jin was able to assist Hakumen in destroying the foundation near the end? I thought Jin was busy helping Ragna and Noel fight Takemikazuchi.

When FPS games don't offer the option to turn off the aiming reticle, it's something that's just in my way and bugs me alot. 'Specially when you can use sights. I'm pointing at you Bioshock Infinite and Borderlands!

before I read the other commits I know what it is. ANY time there is unskipable cutscenes.
