If you had kept the "YOU DIED" pattern up throughout all the verses, that would have been absolutely awesome.
It's still a great song, mind you, but I like that part the most.

Once the singing started (long intro much?)... I laughed! Very funny.

I do wonder if Justin wasn't so much recording video specifically for this song, but just trying to play the game and nautrally ending up with a lot of appropriate footage. ;)

Wonderful musical explanation without having to resort to my normal soundtrack of this game

A good song this week I think, but I reckon you put a little too much thought into making the song relate to the game, it's not a bad thing, it just makes the songs (for me) less enjoyable. Keep up the good work anyhow.

I really enjoyed this. One of the more interesting songs from you lately (besides Joker's Song). The ending felt a little abrupt, but I guess that's Dark Souls for you; suddenly you're dead.

You know, I'm getting a PS1 vibe from this. I don't mean that in snark criticism that it's outdated, but as a compliment. Take a PS1 era game designed for kids that had some dark bits, not grim dark or scary dark, but just some dark tones, maybe some black humour, or it had a section through a graveyard/haunted mansion/General dark and spooky place. Look at the music from that section and compare it to this song. The chorus, the loud instruments and general unflowing tone made these sections all the better because the music was fittingly dark and scary, but had a certain appeal because it was so lively, keeping you on your toes while smiling.

Games like Croc and Digimon World had these bits and this song damn reminded me of these games so thank you sir. Thank you for making me remember these fantastic sections and I can't wait to throw my money at you.

Calumon: ..but I don't wanna die...

Heh, it's probably somewhere around 3:1 ratio between deaths I was planing and legitimate ones. Like I had planned to show something further into Sen's Fortress, but the clip of me not taking my time and getting knocked off the bridge by the trap wasn't. Which in a way made it that much better to show.

Yeah, really didn't like the tone and pacing of this one. I know that its exactly what you were aiming for, but it doesn't really make for a pleasant listening experience. Also, Dark Souls looks like a fucking horrible game to play.

You're really loving your orchestra recently, it suits.
Tis a good thing, there's some things guitars and drums just aren't able to adequately replicate. Of course, put both of them together and you generally get pure epicness, just look at some of Blind Guardian's songs. Sacred Worlds, for example.

I'm sorry Gavin I didn't like it that much. It seemed, I dunno, kind of jokey with the "YOU DIED" lines, I dunoo I haven't played the game but the tone of the song seemed a bit different from the images on the screen.

I liked the first lyrical section (the "You Died" parts) as it flowed like something straight out of a Disney villain song, but I felt like the final section was a subdued buildup that just ended when there should have been a return to the first part (though I guess this kind of fits with the Dark Souls vibe of expecting to continue only to suddenly die).

I quite liked this one... might just be me, but I'm drawing a fair few parallels between the song and your Dark Souls Failthrough, Gav. =D

You really captured the essence of the game and its promary mechanic. Kudos.I dug how Ominous the intor was, it makes fro a darkly comic turn when the song proper kicks in.
