This does not bode well i'd have like to have seen a halo 4 to wrap up the story of master chief a bit but without bungie microsoft will end up fucking it up lucas style they'll probably turn the elites into pacifists and deny that they always have been warriors personally the series is kinda dead now without bungie it would be like sony trying to make a super mario game you'd probably end up with something alright but it wouldn't be the same.

I don't think any of us should be surprised. Microsoft really like making profit, like Activision does. I think they're going to milk Halo as much as possible until a majority of the consumers eventually get bored of it

To be utterly frank and honest; this should have been seen coming a mile off. Or, rather, right around the time Halo3 ODST came out. Bungie stated after releasing Halo 3 they were done with the Haloverse. They were ready to move on to new projects, so much so they sold the Halo IP to Microsoft to get their creative freedom back.

After Halo 3, I consider the series to be dead. Sure Bungie made ODST and Reach, but both titles are lacking in so many ways ODST more so than Reach. These are games that didn't really need to be made. The Halo story had ended. Earth was saved, the Covenant defeated. Unfortunately ODST and Reach were made to capitilize on the cash cow that is Halo with very telling results. Two games that are so lackluster one has to shake their head and think, Bungie made this?! This is pretty much what happens when publishers force developers into making games they would rather not.

Quite honestly we really could have done without ODST or Reach. What should have occured is Bungie was allowed to move onto the project they wished to do and more than likely we'd all be playing a new IP from Bungie right now, instead of playing a half hearted pile of repetative mediocrity with flashy graphics.

Making games on annual basis means you put the minimum effort into them, and then you improve minimal for the next release. But in truth you're selling them the same product. Just like sports games like NBA live and FIFA and shit like that. But most Halo players are kids and teens and they don't really know or care as long as they have the latest game. Microsoft knows that, and that's what they're counting on. They don't care about long time fans of the game.

And this is why I consider the Halo series over now that Bungie's done with it.
I think it might be best we actually wait for the first non-Bungie Halo FPS before we make that sort of decision.

You know what they say about prejudging.

It makes a Pre out of Judge Judy and...wait, that's not right.
Halo Third Person RPG's, anyone? :D
