I'm already a Mirror's Edge fanboy. Right up there with Morrowind and Jet Set Radio Future. The game is going to ROCK.

The demo was a lot of fun to play. I may buy the game if I see it pre-owned however, since it didn't seem like a must buy. A bit linear to what I was expecting, but still an enjoyable game.

Does the game have anything but its wall-running gimmickry and unique (i.e. colourful) aesthetic going for it? It seems like an incredibly linear platform game with the camera stuck to your head rather than floating like a ghost in the wind.

Did you play the demo? Obviously not.

Edit: As for my thoughts on the demo..."I fucking love this demo. It is the best demo ever...PERIOD! Ladies and gentlemen...MIRROR'S EDGE!" *bows in reverence* Cookie to whoever gets the reference.

Um. No? That's why I'm asking.
Sorry for the snappish attitude. It just seemed like you had already decided the game would be fancy crap before playing it. To answer your question, yes, as while the path may be somewhat linear, you're still trying to go through as fast as possible. That in itself can give replay value, as you constantly try to outdo yourself.

I actually didn't like the demo. The controls were well done and intuitive but the level design was fairly lame.

Oh look, there's a bunch of climbable crap on a bunch of similar sized rooftops that all happen to run in a line that happens to coincide with my intended direction... LUCKY ME! It didn't need to be open world but an open block with drastically different pathways would have been magical. Instead I feel like I'm in a jogger's horror house sprinting by scripted animatronic enemies with conveniently lined up helicopters to jump to.

I hope the other levels offer more pathways or give a sense of "i created a new route" but so far the demo was pretty tame.

Gears Of War 2, a brainless piece of garbage? Excuse my French but go copulate yourself.

OT: I love the demo. I'm definitly getting the full game eventually. Not when it's released, because I already bought GoW2 and Fallout 3 so I've got enough to do at the moment, but I will in a month or two.
Je t'excuse.

I personally absolutely loved the demo although sitting there and watching celeste show me what to do was incredibly annoying. Honestly the game has taken a misstep anytime it tries to take control away from you. It seems like this would be the kind of game that would benefit from a half-life style storytelling just by nature. But that's just me and i wish all games did that so...anyways i loved it.
