Saw the footage earlier today and liked what I saw. My only problem is that it didn't seem like you were moving all that fast.

Hopefully they nail the controls perfectly because all the pinpoint accuracy and balance that seems to be required is going to become tiresome if the controls are counter-intuitive. I dare say they will employ the Sixaxis for balancing on the PS3.

Does she have a stamina guage or anything, because in the trailer she seems to be running full pelt for ages without any ill effects? Mind you the pace is a refreshing change. My one criticism of The Darkness was that even at full pace Jackie was about as fast as rolling a block of concrete down a moderate decline.

I was watching the trailer again, and remembered to turn the volume up. I really hope the music ends up sounding like that. It was really good.

The main principle of Parkeur (as I understand it) is to use the least energy most efficiently/to cover the most distance. The speed is more from gathering momentum than physical exersion (& no doubt if she stopped properly then she'd keel over echausted :p)

Asian chick? Check.

I think the problem with that game is that it looks great. It's clearly pleasing.
But the gameplay? Sorry, but everytime I play a FPS, I disable the vomit incuding movements.
It's too early to get a strong impression about that game with such a short trailer, but what I saw is that jumping walls, fences and sliding underneath pipes seems uninspiring.

They claim that the 3D platforming will work great. I'm afraid it could quickly turn out into a dumbed down game wherein you're taken by the hand. That portion of level felt too much like a test level on rail than any really open level.

Actions seem contextual and flashy.
I'd have appreciated seeing diversity and multiple routes to reach the same objective. This would have been nice.

We'll see in the next trailer, and in the demo.

That's funny. I ended up muting it out of disgust.
Whatever. Beauty is in the eye.

I really hope they pull this off well. First person jumping puzzles always pissed me off (I'm looking at you, Half-Life 2), so I hope this will expel some of that anger.

They say that guns will play a very small role in the game. That's good. It could ruin what looks so promising.

The panting is a little bit annoying. Sure its realistic, but I still don't like it. Love the concept though.

I'm trying to remain calm, to avoid hyping up this game too much, but damn! All I can think of, while watching that trailer, is "poetry in motion". This is something I've wanted from the first person perspective for a while. I hope DICE can deliver.

It seems like one of those games that could be great or just a piece of crap personally I will probably get it either way

Punctuate, you fool! I'm cool if you think the game'll be dull, but if you can't write a sentence properly it makes me wonder what kind of congealed, moldy swamp spawned you.

Don't hype yourself up about games, it's unhealthy, even if you like it when it comes out, it may just be the hype clouding your mind.

I saw this months ago, when it was unveiled in the Brit gaming mag Edge and I'm psyched. What has me concerned is more or less what you said. I don't know how many of you played Breakdown for the XBox, but it is a game characterized as an "interesting experiment" in first person gaming rather than a good game. Hopefully, Mirror's Edge will turn out better than that intriguing mess.

Say what you want, but atleast it's a refreshing change of pace from all the bang, bang, shoot, shoot, FPS's now (not that all of them are bad)

The official fan site: http://www.on-mirrors-edge.com/

Hopefully some of the links on there will clear up the misconceptions some of you have about it.

And yes I love concept, its my most anticipated game for the year.
