Had a week of torment a few years ago:

When I was fifteen, met a very shy girl in my freshman year of highschool. We got to know each other, ended up going out for about two years. Her step-dad was a marine, and he had to move out to twenty-nine palms in California (I'm in Florida). The entire family went with him, including my girlfriend. We tried to keep in as close contact as we could, and for the most part, we did. But two weeks after she'd moved into her new home, she was killed in a car wreck. I only found out about it because I tried calling her a few hours after she was declared dead, and her mother answered.

You know the guys that talk the loudest about it? The ones that act all suave and bragging about how they laid all these girls? They are probably some of the most insecure people I've ever met. They are only 'bragging' so that they can get the affirmation from their peers that they are 'cool'.
And I've found that girls that are attracted to those type of guys are not the ones that you'd want to date. Well I know I wouldn't, anyways. Either stuck up, stupid, immature, mean, or a combination of all 4. Yeah, not someone I want to spend time with. Not to mention easy, which means a far greater chance for STDs and the like.
Besides, you're 16! At that age, I had no idea how really really young that is. Heck, I still think I'm really really young, and I'm nearly 25! You've got so much time and life ahead of you. Don't sweat the small stuff.
I spent 4 nights in a hospital once, when I was only supposed to be there for 2 hours after a surgery. I had a cyst in my lower back. I developed a 40 degree fever, and they could not understand why. Turns out, I had an allergic reaction to the penicilin they gave me. Those 5 days I was at that damned hellhouse were the worst days I've ever had.
I wanted to strangle someone. Even more so when I had actually told them I felt worse after taking the damn pills. Incompetent, uncaring pricks.
That was the week I lost any intrest I had in becoming a doctor.

Hmm... reading through this thread actually makes me feel better about my pathetic life...
I'll try to contribute to the misery, let's see... I'm failing college, my eyesight is going to hell, my jaw is tight and makes these clicking noises which means it'll either brake soon or god knows what. My dating life has been in the dumps all my life (zero dates, whooo!) I've lost all contact with my real friends since I went to college, and my mom thinks something is wrong with my brain because I have really weird thoughts.
But so what, as long as there is pizza and video games all is well for me.

It could be worse. I'm almost 20 and in a similar situation. One girlfriend about a year ago for a three weeks. Since then absolutely nothing. I suspect I will remain a virgin until I die. I pretend its not a big and that i don't care but I do more and more. To make matters even worse I go to a dance school. Which means two things:traceur_ said:

I'm not particularly unnatractive but I am very aware that there are plently of better men out there that won't have the myriad of issues I do, so why would they choose me? Maybe one day I can get drunk pity sex and feel horrible afterwards. Hooray for the future!!!
