I really wish they expanded more on Rudy's split personality a bit more than they did. The first episode with him in was brilliant and I was hoping they'd expand more on him trying to surpress his gay side (and there is one because the first time he's shown his other half mentions it). I thought on the whole the episodes were strong (especially the one with the comic book guy) but the finale was a little bit of a let down.

This is coming from someone who has just started watching it so I can't comment on the absence of the curly haired guy.
First of all man, and I can't stress this enough... watch Series 1 and 2. Misfits is NOT the same as it was with the curly haired guy in. They tried to replace him with another vulgar guy with an accent and... it just didn't work as well. Sorry, but it didn't. I think I would've preferred it if they tried to make Rudy his own character rather than a Nathan wannabe; I agree that they should've expanded on the cloning power more because I actually liked him more when he wasn't saying '****' and 'up the arse' every 2 seconds and showed some true vulnerability.

That said, I do very much like the idea of Nathan and Rudy interacting.

i would love that too, but i doubt Nathan will be back in the future... present? the actor left the show and the character is in jail in Nevada.
Which never made sense to me, for two reasons.

Secondly, he's a fucking reality warper! How is a jail going to hold him if he decides he'd prefer his cell wall to be made of rice paper or that the guards would look better as blobs of green jelly? We've seen him pull objects from non-existence, teleport others, alter the physical properties of yet others. The fact that he's a pillock isn't going to stop him from realising the potential of this eventually, and then there's no jail in the world that can hold him.
I think the brilliance that is Nathan is that he's too thick to use his powers in clever ways right off the bat... but, that's the beauty of it. Robert Sheehan has said that he MAY come back, which is why they simply put him in prison rather than kill him off altogether- with the new power, Nathan has a get-out-of-jail-free card.

Also, Nathan made Misfits and it's not the same without him. But again, with Simon and Alisha gone, it'd be interesting to see what Overman does to keep the show interesting...

I've been watching the first series on 4oD. I didn't really like Nathan much at first but I'm coming round to me now. He's too cocky and there's nothing I can find to like about him right now.

The thing I don't like about the first series is my favourite character, Simon, is completely different and I really don't like him. In the third series he came off as a bit weird and quiet which was what I liked about him. In series 1 he's comes off as very needy and over-sensitive, I hope he mans up soon.

Do what naturally? People don't do a Jesus and rise from the dead all the time, you know?
No, but it's not something he uses, is it? It's something that happens to him. Like Kelly's rocket science, it's a passive ability - she can't stop herself from understanding machines just like he can't stop himself from resurrecting.

It isn't a power, a power would be something like you learn at an insane rate ... like johnny 5 from short circuit reading a book. At the moment she is no better than a savant, it's a gift not a power.
The power isn't just the knowledge, it's the understanding. That's why she can look at new and unfamiliar machinery and figure it out almost instantly, with that weird purple highlight to show she's using a power rather than just remembering it.
It's still not a power, if I can get it through learning it's not a power ...

I think we will have to agree to disagree on this one 'cos you think it is and I doubt you are going to change your mind and I don't think it is and I know I am not going to change my mind.

Me and another Misfits fan were discussing this a few days ago. The ending for Simon and Alisha was amazingly heartbreaking and would've made for a great ending to the entire show. As it happened we both knew there would be a forth series and we was wondering how they would save the both of them. The next day we found out neither Simon nor Alisha will be in Series 4, now I'm really worried, the creators did well replacing Nathan with Rudy but Simon grow into the better character and one of the main hearts of the show, without him there could be trouble.

Before reading this thread, I had no idea that the fourth series had even been green lit. It's such a relief to see it's not over.

No idea what's next, but I desperately hope they can get Nathan back in the show, and give Rudi more character development. They seem to have spent one episode highlighting his character flaws, then just spent the rest of the time using him as comic relief.

I actually think they have begun to show Rudy as being different from Nathan. While both are vulgar and cocky, the difference is Nathan was unflabbably optimistic, he was unbeatable even at his lowest moments (thrown out of home living in the community centre), hence his superpower literally immortality. Rudy's behaviour however is very much a facade, he makes himself this over the top person because he secretly worried about rejection, very in line with his power. The first episode with Alisha, the one with the girl he slept with and even the finale when the religious girl took him up on his offer to see his penis and he told her to slow down, are good examples.

Simon was my favourite character too, it's actually why it's great to show him grow from a creepy possible villain to a more light-hearted tragically heroic figure.

If Nathan were back on the show, that would make it better. He was by far the best character, so someone should break him out. Rudy was a good addition, and should definitely stay. Simon could very easily be written back into the show by getting the power to travel into the future. Kelly should use her rocket scientist power much more. Curtis needs a new power to prevent him/her from becoming pregnant again, like possibly a super-speed power as he is a former track star. It would suit him well. As for storyline, being on probation is getting a little tiresome. If Simon were to come back, he could convince the others to all become 'super heroes' and still use the facility that Simon worked so hard to create. I know Alisha won't be returning, but questions I have are why do I not remember her and Simon actually going to Vegas to take that picture they kept showing, did I miss that, or could closure on that subject still be a possibility?

They were implied to have all visited Vegas between Seasons 2 and 3.
