I am interested in this so much. I remember the brony fandom through me off guard but I took it in stride. But internet holy hell no one came out looking good in those discussion man. I look forward to this movie I respect this show going above and beyond the call of duty, creating a fanbase that really challenged and stirred our ideas of gender based entertainment. I am not sure if I am going to see it but it turned Taye Diggs into a feline furry so I can not give it anything but respect and hope for the best.

Actually, I quit watching MLP mainly because I couldn't stand the Fascist themes anymore. The world is ruled by a race of uberpony alicorns, and nopony who isn't of that race is allowed to be in the ruling class.
Children are taught that there are certain elite few who are chosen to rule and do the important work, like crushing the forces of "evil." I wouldn't let my kids watch a show with such insidious themes hidden just below the surface.

And yes, there were some anti-brony "groups" online, but their activities were mostly relegated to comment sections, making them relatively easy to ignore. You still get the occasional "lel bronies are cucks/autists" comment on YouTube and the like, but interest has died down as the show has became increasingly well-established in pop culture.
As far as personal experiences go, there was one negative incident four or five years ago where a couple of frat boys called me a fag for browsing the MLP merch at the local Hot Topic (I just smiled and shrugged, whereupon they realized they weren't going to get the reaction they wanted and moved on). I've also had a few positive ones as well, with curious cashiers asking me about my MLP shirts or arm bands that I sometimes wear. Generally though, it's been my experience that most people don't give a rat's ass in meatspace...or if they do, they keep it to themselves. Folks tend to be more courteous when interacting face to face.

I'm not sure if how much of an organized movement there was, but there sure as hell were anti-bronies. When the mlp fandom started to become big you couldn't even have a thread about mlp on almost any forum without more than a few people posting how bronies were cancer or something and commonly posting gore pics. It's pretty much died off, but you will still occasionally find a few, now usually only on youtube. I have seen some bitching about the trailer for the movie.Hawki said:
