So I'm trying to vote in round 2 of March Mayhem but when I tried to do my twitter vote thing it said it wasn't tied to it. Up inspection my twitter account has been suspended.
The only thing I have ever used that account for was the votes for March Mayhem, I set it up specifically for MM. Is anyone else having this problem?

If your updates consist mainly of links, and not personal updates;
That's my guess.

Eugh. I can't be the only one who made a twitter account specifically for this event. Seems pretty sucky that I can't get the extra vote (and I think place in the chance to win the laptop) unless I actively use my twitter account.

Oh well.

Okay, here's a question: Why don't you actively use your twitter account?

I made it so I could get the extra vote/entrance in the prize draw. None of my friends have twitters and tbh and I have no intention of using it after March Mayhem.

I made a twitter last MM, haven't touched it since then, it's working just fine for me this MM. Perhaps you should contact them about it?

Same reason I haven't made a twitter account and no longer have a facebook page. I would never post anything on them.

Hmm okay, yeah I sent them a "ticket" explaining it. AccursedTheory probably has it right and I just got unlucky as all of my posts were links. Hopefully they reinstate it before tomorrow midnight so I can get those extra votes.

Because Twitter was designed for the "simple-Jacks" among us. That's a pretty good reason right there.

Yeah happened to me too, I'll planning on just signing up for another one for this round of voting.

Yeah, only a few of my friends are on twitter, and it's the only thing I use. I post shameless blog promos on my facebook, but that's it, even though that's where all my friends are. Plus, I've made a few friends on twitter exclusively. Can't say that about facebook.

Here's an idea, everything you post on facebook, post again on twitter. Plus, it's great for crowd-sourcing, and talking to people you look up to, like Penn Jillette.

I appreciate the advice, although now I suspect you work for twitter. Twitter just doesn't have anything I need other than this march mayhem thing. I update my statuses every now and then on facebook but all the people I want to see those already see them on facebook. And although Penn Jillette is very cool I don't really mind never speaking to him.

Yes, it's simple...now...how is that a bad thing?

Yeah, but why not give it a chance? Everytime you post something on facebook, you post it on twitter. In fact I think you can set that to do it automatically.

I think you may be really overestimating how social some people like to be. Pretty much everything you've described sounds horribly obnoxious to me :p
