I'm a bit of an addict to chili. I have it almost everyday. Not that I can't have food without it, but I just kind of need a daily fix. I used to go nuts, continue eating regardless of what my body's doing (sweating, hiccups, tears, swelling, you name it) but as I'm growing older my stomach can't really handle it as well as it used to. So I kind of pace it out, especially if it's before an important day, or a day where I won't have decent access to a toilet (like going to a race track or something.
I like spiciness from all cuisines - Indian curries, Thai soups, Chinese chili oils and cut chilies, Italian with flakes or Tabasco, grilled chicken with peri peri, you name it. But the hottest thing I ever ate comes from Indonesian cuisine (where I live), there's a mixed rice and meat dish which comes with sambal cobek (pronounced chou-bek) which absolutely kicked my ass. It's basically a raw mashed chili paste hidden under all the food, but the seeds are all intact. So once you bite into these guys they just about set your face on fire.
But being the proud bastard that I am, never turned down a chili eating challenge or back down from trying something crazy, especially one that I ordered, well I polished off the whole thing. My mouth recovered well enough, my stomach wasn't the same for about 3 or 4 days after that.
