MMO Races: Is monstrosity declining?

I've always wanted to play as another race. Sometimes for shooters, I do prefer humans.

pesonaly I cant wait to play a giant cat monster in guild wars 2

really the lack of any cool monstrous race can make me overlook an mmo, like it took me forever to actually play the first guild wars since you could only be human

o.o!! ..... interest in GW2 rising.

and i agree with the lower statement, monsterus races add flavor to the world, hate WoW but i do like its diversity, or a game with the raw customization options to make your character anything you want regardless of ability (City of Heroes)

you should check out the charr history, they are not only a monstrous race but they also have a really interesting back ground and are the most technologically advanced race in the game world

nice, if i get it, rolling one of those first x.x to many other games to play atm though, even with GW2 not out yet

I read a blog post about this, it from what they gathered(mostly from WoW statistics) is most people stick to what they feel 'comfortable' playing. And for a lot of people this is humans, or races that are extremely similar in appearance to humans. I myself take things like racial bonuses, etc into account but I usually stick to normalish looking races as well.
