An MMO set in the Dune universe or based on the Dune series, anything could be possible, and for all of those who don't know what I'm talking about I suggest you head to a book store... now.

Transformers MMO

So much potential for variation. It'd be FPS RPG. You could choose things like what vehicle you'd transform into, from a helicopter to a motorbike to a spoon, if you wanted. Since you're robots, the shape and design of your character and its weapons and such things could be anything you wanted really. It'd be like if there was Armored Core Online, only you can Transform too!

Hey I like that idea too, Armored Core Online...

Probably said before, just gonna support that person: I want to play a stargate MMO, but it has to be an RPG not one of those bloody card games and I can't pick 'Earth': I have to pick between a slave race(s)/Goa'uld (Factions?)/rebelling faction(s)/wraith/replicators/whatever.

The whole universe seems to be an incredibly interesting concept which is crippled by being shown through the eyes of Earth, which has an incredibly limited viewpoint in comparison. Also once you realise that most shows made by Americans (Even if filmed in Vancouver) treat Terrans in science fiction like they do Americans in regular fiction (Same goes for fantasy) you generally want to get as far away from them as possible and look at the viewpoint of other races, then justify their point of view until the Humans are the bad guys and you don't have to be ashamed of your thinly veiled biggotry.

Or maybe that's just me. Still though, Terrans within the SG universe only really ever explore and fight when they get in trouble, so eventually play would get boring.

Unless you wanted to do an alternate/future world where Terra has devloped a real stake in the Galaxy. That would be acceptable. The more I write the less I think someone came up with this idea before.

EDIT: For once I agree with the majority. When I learned that Bioware (A great Canuck company whose games I've always enjoyed) was going to make a star wars MMO (SWG NEVER HAPPENED) I felt so good I needed to change my pants.
The DJinn has granted you your wish and taken your soul:

The issue here being that you HAVE to be an SG member. Not to mention that the archetpyes I've seen seem for the most part to be rip offs of the character roles played by the main characters.

So while it is an SG MMO, it fell into pretty much every pitfall I feared it would. That being said I'm still applying for the beta and google mapping the houses of my competitors so I can slit their throats.
That's why I said the Djinn granted your wish. A Djinn is like a devil that grants wishes in exchange for your soul and you get screwed regardless.

I woulds play any MMO set in the RIFTS universe. So many factions so much potential, such a badass post apocalyptic world full of magic and badass robots, power armor, vampires, and Atlanteans.

LOL RIFTS = EVERYTHING lol .. so you might as well build it up from a Second Life scripting since you will need everything in the world to make it work, lol. Or

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Done the right way, this could have tons of potential. All the animal combinations you could pick from. And good possible factions are:

Shredder Faction
Disciples of Splinter
Baxter's technological faction..
Krang's Dimension X Expansion

At some point a destroyed technodrome would have to be a major city.
I might play that, but again, a game has to have substance and not just theme. It all depends on who the developer ends up being sadly.

An Escapist MMO wherein you play as an Escapist who defends one of the last remaining oasises (I'm not sure what the plural for oasis is) in the culture deprived desert that is the inter-tubes. 4-chanians and other trolls of varying strength make up the MOBs and bosses. Players choose whether to be a logic-wielding spell caster, report-button-mashing warrior, a priest-esque class that removes the taint of the trolls with a healthy dose of grammar nazing, etc.

Valdemar. I would play a MMO set in the world of Valdemar by Mercedes Lackey. I think the magic system is extensive, the world and nations are deep and varied, and the storytelling potential is immense. I also think that this kind of story could bring in people who are new to the genre, both the MMO genre and the Fantasy genre.

a Gundam MMORPG
Resident Evil, if done right

oh oh, and Toejam & Earl (some kind of awesome retro-remake of the original)

any MMOrpg that would have kick ass combat/fighting capabilities, say in games like Prototype.

I always thought that mixing/crossover games were interesting (ex: marvel vs Capcom, Kingdom hearts)... imagine if you could combine every game together (at least all the decent ones) into one giant universe of an MMORPG

WoW, when I won't have to work, study or leave the house anymore. Other than that, I'm kind of dissapointed when a franchise I had expectations for announces that it will release an MMO instead of a 'regular' game. Like KOTOR. I heard they were making a World of Darkness MMO too, and I would SO MUCH prefer to play a single player game instead *sigh*.

A Warhammer 40k RPG set in the future with big battles in space, I'd pay to play that shit.

Can this MMO be a first person shooter?

If so then a zombie apocolypse game where your in a city, and if you go out of the city walls zombies everywhere! Just trying to rush you, but their easy to kill, but if you concentrate on only one area they'll come out of the areas you weren't concentrating on.
YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!!! Thats almost exactly what i would love to make of an MMO, sept instead of first person id want third. And the starting City would be small, and the outside world would be ENORMOUS!! It would have what you said where the zombies would come from the unconcentrated areas, but it would have a good version of Age of Conans failed attempt at "capture a land, fortify it, and make it a castle". In this case its take a house, fortify it and fend off Zombies. Take over a neighboorhood, fortify all the houses while helping out the NPCs that would spawn there and any low levels who needed the protection, AND STILL FEND OFF ZOMBIES!!! A game done something to that effect could cost 50 dollars a month and id pay 100 to make sure that the servers never went down.
