Pokemon MMO. It's such a fantastic amazing idea that I'm surprised it hasn't actually happened yet.
It's called APB, which is what I was going to mention. The game looks incredibly fun.Levk said:Grand Theft Auto MMO would be good, and really insane but atleast the grind quest be fun $$
Ok not wanting to start a total flaming war with an obvious WoW-fan, but serously its taken them untill the 2nd addon to try to really coherently tie it in with the other storyline, with the flashback dungeon thing.Entropy_kC said:The story in Warcraft is good, yes, but I don't think that the writers of WoW ruined it; things like the "Caverns of Time" (you go back in time and relive events of the RTS series) really add to the game. The only "massacring" of the story is that theoretically people like Illidan and Kel'Thuzad are dead. I'm not sure whether they've allowed players to engage in combat with Arthas himself, but I feel reasonably confident that Blizzard won't let him die, he'll escape and leave a chest or something for loot.BlauAugeDamon said:[...] our problem is that we are so disillustioned by the massacre that new-blood writers have made of the storyline that we simply don't want to play it.
Edit: misread original post, so deleted paragraph relating to misread section.
I don't even play WoW any more, so I'm not really a fan of it as a game, I'm a fan of the UoW (that's Universe of Warcraft) though.BlauAugeDamon said:Ok not wanting to start a total flaming war with an obvious WoW-fan, but serously its taken them untill the 2nd addon to try to really coherently tie it in with the other storyline, with the flashback dungeon thing.
Yeah, I originally (before the game came out) wanted to play as a Necromancer, alas the class wasn't included. I think it's a bit silly that all races can be DKs, all but one warriors etc. There should be a balance over the factions, but there should be more classes like the Druid which only one race per faction can be.Honestly, I kinda miss the days when the trolls were crazy shamans or spear-weilding nutjobs, and everything was more racially orientated, when one species appeared as maybe only 2 classes.
My only guess is to make it so you can see him when you eventually fight him.By the way, why the fuck is Arthas like 12 foot tall?
I guess the difference (for example having Death Knights that aren't Undead) is due to the fact that WoW is set 3 years (I think) after WC3, so a lot has changed in that time.Possibly my dislike of WoW is because, at the time it was released I was an utter fanboy and drooling over the thought of being a Taruen, running around and smacking people with my hooves, and thus had pre-ordered it 3 months before its release date. And then was sorely disappointed at the end result. Being naieve as I was at the time, thinking that the trailers were in some far-fetched way a representation of the real thing. Which turned out to be more like the first Fable, with big feet, hands and heads, and a general feel of cartoony-ness, rather than a serous attempt at a game based on such an epic storyline.
And now to destroy all credit and credibility i may have gained through my 218 postings on this forum, but I actually enjoyed Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood. My main whinge would be that sometimes the difficulty curve gets screwy with monsters and bosses, and my other whinge would be the story lacked a bit, but apart from that, i quite enjoyed it. (That and the fact it was on the DS) *shudder*Uilleand said:You, sir, have fantastic taste....Daedalus1942 said:I think an MMO based on Jade Empire could work too. Everybody learning different martial arts moves, and trying to best each other would work wonders for a PvP arena.
Yes, I'm a Bioware fan.
Being made by BioWare is the ONLY thing that could tempt me into an MMO. To this point, I have managed to avoid MMOs like a dripping case of ebola...but Old Republic has me so....tempted!!!
(And Jade Empire would be like actually waving the crack pipe under my nose...)
I pray that never happens. I love playing as the marines single player campaign and shitting my pants when my torchlight goes out. MMO would destroy that sense of dread.Q-Tarantula said:AVP MMO? srsly.
Oh good!! *whispers*...I just bought that yesterday...I figured my BW collection should be complete...LOLDaedalus1942 said:And now to destroy all credit and credibility i may have gained through my 218 postings on this forum, but I actually enjoyed Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood. The only bioware rpg I don't own is the Baldurs Gate series.Uilleand said:Oh good!! They had different species in Star Trek? When?Sharpeye42 said:star trek universe where you can actually explore planets instead of being in the ship all the time and play as ALL the species shown in all the series.

The DK thing is explained, but the idea they came up with for the reason for all the DK's was kinda stupid (I'm gonna make cannon fodder to draw out a SINGLE enemy!)[/quote]Entropy_kC said:Yeah, I originally (before the game came out) wanted to play as a Necromancer, alas the class wasn't included. He's not 12 feet tall. He only looks it in a few shots because he's an illusion. When he shows up (I've seen him... four times in leveling) he's about the size of a standard human. Problem is that they've made him seem impotent in the gameworld. My only guess is to make it so you can see him when you eventually fight him.By the way, why the fuck is Arthas like 12 foot tall?
WoW is set three years after War3, BC is another two years after that, and Wrath 2 years after that. So from the first killing of Ragnaros to the killing of Yogg-Saron (the current end boss) is a span of 4 years.I guess the difference (for example having Death Knights that aren't Undead) is due to the fact that WoW is set 3 years (I think) after WC3, so a lot has changed in that time.Possibly my dislike of WoW is because, at the time it was released I was an utter fanboy and drooling over the thought of being a Taruen, running around and smacking people with my hooves, and thus had pre-ordered it 3 months before its release date. Yeah, I agree about the really nice quest lines, a lot of lore about Arthas (as you'd expect) in them, especially in Icecrown. I don't really know about the stuff at the moment because I haven't played in about 9 months I think.Calax said:As for the DK's not being undead, Arthas is technically still alive in Warcraft 3's undead campaign. Wrath really turned up the story compared to it's predecessors. There are a few questlines that are friggin sweet (wrathgate, dk start zone, and Mattias Lehner quests), but overall it's slwoly loosing it's character gameplay wise (to me).
What's Champions? So I'm probably gonna swap to Champions when it comes out, and see if that grabs me. If not... I donno.
