Is anyone else annoyed by this ad? I know the objective of this ad is probably to cause a permanent impresion or curiosity (I haven't clicked on it just for the sake of not giving them what they want).

It is also strange that, as people that look down this kind of writing on posts, we get it from our sponsors.

I see now that it might be D&D online game advertisement for the other ads.

I put this in off-topic since I'm talking about the marketing of the game not about the game.

Edit: On a related subject. Why all the players show Flowplayer and 2009 Flowplayer Ltd. labels? Alright they want to let know who made it but isn't it enough with the little gray letters?

I haven't seen such a thing on the Escapist yet, but if it was, you'd be wise not to critisize the Escapist's sponsors (they're a bit touchy about that subject).
To answer your question: That seems like the stupidest add I've ever heard of. Playing into the viewer's curiosity is freakin' lame.

It was for Everquest 2 and yes I hate it. Even if gets you to click on it but you end up hating the product. As a graphic design student I find it extra offensive, yes it is attention grabbing, but its annoying.
