For those who havn't played moba the video below is a combination of 2 heros which results in something hilarious although quite difficult to pull off.
Dota 2 players will know the champs but to put it into context for others (pudge and shen)
Legue: blitzcranks grab, combined with another heros ult porting him to fountain.
Hon: butchers hook and again another hero insta porting him to fountain.

-edit there was a better video i was shown but couldn't find it also for those already having seen this my apologies
yeah. That's a fun thing to do with pudge. I've seen games where a pudge went beyond godlike by 15 minutes doing that town portal hook. hook them into fountain and then dismember. Nothing can survive that early on. instant death.
EDIT2: also check out purgegamers best weekly videos on youtube. he has much better footage of it. This one was kind of lackluster.

Also, you need to edit your title. It should be MOBA.

Currently in beta i got my invite last week and moved from lol to hon and now from hon to dota 2 its awesome
Enter the beta on steam LOADS of people are getting invited now so theres a fair chance you can join.
Basically what happend is blitzcranks grab is what pudges hook is grabs an enemy and drags it to you, as the hook hits pudge is instantly ported to the town fountain using one of chen another heros abilitys.

Whaaaaaaaa....
Did someone just use Summoner Throw to lob an enemy into the friendly fountain for the instakill?!
Summoner Throw confirmed OP
DOTA 2 is F2P right? I may have to see if it's worth spending valuable LoL time on it instead...
I suppose i'll keep an eye on it once it actually releases, I'm not one for Betas myself.
To be honest I doubt the gameplay could be much better than LoL's just cuz of the subgenre itself
Three lanes, 5v5, turrets, builds, tanks, casters etc etc and hotkeys. Everything else is just a matter of polish and window dressing. Important polish and window dressing mind
And naturally balancing, don't want the MOBA equivalent of UMVC3's Wesker rearing it's ugly, virus ridden head around here...
But the real question is are the characters as hilariously awesome as the LoL Champions?
And of course can I kill people with music? I <3 Sona
"Oh, you think the Support Harp Girl is an easy kill 1v1 do you? Check out my AP build, I think you'll agree that it's quite... Acceso, wouldn't you say? XD"

Y'know having a proper beta for a MOBA game is a pretty good idea... It makes the hilariously broken characters fixed before the game even comes out, though this is Valve... They playtest every single one of their games to death anyway
Well, the other, other real question is do they release badass skins for absolutely everyone? Also the sense of humour over at Riot is amazing...

Denying: This is a big one, by hitting "A" (attack move) and targeting a creep on low health you can kill it yourself denying your opponent exp and gold. Very important early games and gets people microing alot better.
You can also deny towers, if they are on low health.
No runes: Nope no runes your champs are as strong as they will ever be from the word go.
Summoner spells:Nope none of these the summoner spells are instead worked into items, e.g. ghost is in a specific kind of boot, flash is in 1 item which does nothing else other than give you the ability to flash and costs 2100 gold (gold in dota is more or less relevant to the same gold as lol)
Red/Blue Buff: Again nope. What you get instead is 1 of 4 runes spawning every 2 minutes half way between mid and the top and bottom lane respectivley. These 4 runes are as follows Double damage, Haste, Regeneration and illusion.
Carry:If you look after a carry they can carry your team 5v1 if the carry in question is skilled enough and has the right tools for the job. Legue this is very rare as the damage people can do is nurfed alot.
Nuke: my god the difference in nuke between legue and dota is insane some champions can drop you in under second from quite early in the game, you can't be dopey. This does lead to the odd pub stomp hero.
Gold: You loose gold if you die. This really makes you think before tower diving wether its worth it or not.
There are a fair few more examples but those are the ones that stick in mind .
Oh skins? not sure... i got alota legue skins myself i would imagine they may well make skins but as it stands currently in beta no, not yet.

In what ways? If it's actually better I might play, but without any solid details I won't (i.e., neither can I be bothered to find them out myself).
EDIT: Okay, I lied, and since I was bored went and found some stuff. Interesting article: http://uk.pc.ign.com/articles/121/1217171p1.html , probably sums up how I would feel.
Dota 2 is the best (for me at least) not only because IceFrog's balance is brilliant, but he doesn't squash "OP" tactics like roamers and trilands. He integrates them so that the tactics become options to players to take to play.
Riot nerfed roaming because bads whined and QQ'ed. There was even a while ago when they nerfed range dps carries for doing too much damage (wut?) LoL is unexciting since nothing ever changes in comp play.
"I might play [it]" would suggest that I haven't played it, surely? My "lie" was that I couldn't be bothered to find out the question myself - which I rescinded on.

But I would still recommend actually playing DOTA 2 before making that decision, as opposed to having some (sorry, got to say it) noob at IGN hand you your opinion in an article soaked with tears he wept when he discovered it might actually take him more than 2 games to hit the skill ceiling.
That's why I was asking for reasons that might allow me to make a qualified judgement of whether or not to play it. I said the article was "interesting" as in "could you elaborate on any of those points?". Saying that this guy has "handed [me] [my] opinion", is a pretty crude misinterpretation of what I was saying and my character.
Did you read the article?
He state that he consider both to be fine games and then go on to admit that it's the simplifications of LoL that makes him prefer it. That its lesser punishment make surprise comeback possibly and he personally find that much more enjoyable. He gives point to Dota for of having items, and criticise it for it for having less interesting hide mechanic.
And after him stating both are good games and that he just prefer LoL for being more simple how do you align these two.

can definitely see why someone would rather play LoL, and that person should be able to do so without being ridiculed

For a guy who loves to go back and point out specific parts of his post, you were certainly quick to ignore your closing "Probably sums up how I would feel". Gives the impression you have already made up your mind and makes elaborating pointless.
I like to make myself clear, if that's what you mean. But no, I haven't made my mind up at all about the game, hence why I was asking for what you preferred about DoTA to LoL. Which you seem stubbornly insistent on not providing.
