Well one thing I've always thought would be a cool idea is a steampunk case. Lots of gauges, glass, brass and gears. Perhaps even linked up to the power so the gears turn and power something at the top of the case. I am actually planning on doing this should I ever have the money. Fixing an on/off switch to it though, since it would get annoying if it was on all the time.

But something like that, perhaps taking inspiration from steampunk culture (Bioshock is a good place to look for styles), as well as real Victorian era contraptions can make for some really outstanding case designs.

Cases are pretty personal. My next case is just going to be any decent Antec case with my avatar (a green dinosaur) cut into it and made into a window, then fill it with green lights. I made a quick shoop of it a while ago. http://sadpanda.us/images/94312-FCWL72L.png (Yes I know it's a ThermalTake, not an Antec.)

A bank of these on the front plus an extra USB set in the back and that'd be awesome! Add some laminate mahogany to the sides, edge it in brass and see if you can get a 'Frankenstein switch' for the power on the front, even if it is a pressure button concealed in one of the contacts.

I did actually plan to have some gauges/meters on the case but that Frankenstein style switch is genius!

Something to do with casset tapes. That would be sweet and possibly more orginal than the Steam punk idea.

Or turn it into a disco/rave. Add UV lights, glowsticks, miniature decks, speakers, discoball etc.
