Strange thought came across my mind. I'm thinking hundreds of years into the future, and I wonder... What items has our century produced that could be considered valuable artifacts in the distant future? They could be technology, art, or some revolution that was invaluable to our progression as the human race. Thoughts?

The Spork. By god, when the new civilization that arises after we all destroy ourselves uncovers that gem, they will truly know he extent of our amazing ingenuity!

Really I think the biggest and most obvious Elephant in the room would be the Personal Computer and how many versions of it there are within a small amount of time the amazing amount of information that could be seen from any of this is about our time period is just mind blowing.

Heh, this really is a tough question since that's all I can really think of. The microchip pretty much runs everything and gets progressively more advanced as the years go on. But, I really can't see it much as a honest to god "artifact" like maybe the Gutenburg type-press or perhaps the Rosetta Stone.

Not quite sure what they would consider as "Valuable Artifacts, however if they are digging in Los Angeles you can expect to hear a lot of "Over here Geoffrey! I have found another vessel of transportation donning the spinning circular tracks!"

Honestly I can see the original Ipod or one of it's newer incarnations being considered a valuable artifact in the future. That or some of the older game systems, such as the Atari. Heck, it's almost considered an artifact now! Can you imagine how much it's games would be worth to collectors in the future?!

What about debit cards? We use those to purchase everything. Smart phones will also have to be at the top of the list. We can connect to everything from anywhere with a smartphone.
