Basically everything in this video

Erm... they never spoke English in any one of the Call of Duties, unless they were actually English speaking enemies. (Like Shepard's American mercenaries in MW2)

Regardless, my least favorite cliche is recharging health (unless there is a viable reason to explain it, i.e Halo). Starting to really get bored with it.

The only cliche I have a problem with is that the U.S. / Earth is the best and wins at everything. It's a stupid cliche that I'm surprised never angred more people than Cuba. Heck, I'm surprised that MW2 and MW3 aren't banned in Russia. Come to think of it right now, that cliche is pretty stupid: In this decade, the U.S. will either destroy itself, or the majority of the nation will sink into complete poverty on a scale worse than the Great Depression, yet come WWIII, the U.S. will most likely get back on it's feet and buy itself another 60 years of economic prosperity until the next George Bush Jr. comes into office and screws things up again. Because that's all we've ever been good at in this nation: War, Corruption, and screwing over the economy. It's no wonder no-one tries to conquer us.
The reason no one has tried to conquer you is the first thing you listed as your country being good at.

Like you said, scope drift. Me, with no mititary training, just hunting and shooting targets with friends, can keep a scope way steadier than these trained military snipers? Also, coverbased combat, iron sight aiming, and regenerating health. Dual wielding, flamethrowers that can't hit at more than 10 feet, and realistic shooters where you die in just a few shots. Civilian escorts, finding keys to doors, forced stealth and puzzels in non stealth or puzzel games,ETC.

EDIT: Forgot to mention zombies. EVERY SINGLE GAME DOESN'T HAVE TO HAVE ZOMBIES YOU KNOW. Some ones have good zombies, but really it gets old when every game has zombies

Actually, the nation is probably more vulnerable than ever now. No-one wants to conquer us because our citizens are unproductive and lazy, and would be too much trouble to deal with, and we've already mined out all our natural resources, so there would be nothing material to gain except a lot of money and enough land for a giant Solar plant. Really, the country's a hellhole right not, pardon my french.

Okay can we have a game where we explore two different characters in a difficult conflict with no obvious heroes or villains?
The South-American Empire invades mainland Europe and the New Liberal Germany and the French free federation do battle with them in Holland, like Amsterdam, a city with a lot of vibrance and soul, some color.
It follows two characters, Aksel, the old, tired war veteran who re-enlisted to help get both his sons through collage and to try and forget about the recent loss of his wife, having being persuaded by his friend Emiric for one last job.
And Davi, a young boy conscripted into the Imperial army and slowly gets corrupted by the dark underbelly of the army, drugs, rape, assault and murder of civilians. Both have their own stories and as we follow them we see a once live beautiful place slowly deteriorate into a cold husk of it's former self.

Hows that? :p

Sprinting, more specifically when it's limited. I'm not saying to make it unlimited all the time but in cod I think it's pretty limited. I remember in cod BO I went through the bit where you have to outrun an avalanche and your buddies are yelling at you to hurry. But I can't since my small-ass amount of stamina ran out half way through the event. So until then I'll have to casually jog away from the avalanche.

I will awnser your question with an example;

I was playing the campagin of MW2, and I took a RPG round to the face a survived. I know it hit me, and I know it was at my face, and I survived (On vetren, might I add).

That just shouldn't happen ever.

Red Barrels, I have never understood why there are so many exploding barrels and on top of that the enemies always huddle around them like it's no big deal.

Every main character being a brooding, hypermasculine soldier with a voice like he ate half a gravel pit, as well as every plot being a preposterous ultra-right-wing paranoid power fantasy.

You know I never noticed this before reading this topic, even though no one mentioned it.

Why does EVERY protagonist of ANY game that uses grenades, feel the need to ALWAYS throw them over hand no matter the distance between them and the target?

"SHIT! Bogey in the next room! I suppose I could just roll this grenade in there...

Aw fuck it. AMERICA FOR THE WIN YOU RUSSIAN MOTHERFUCKERS!"

- Door opening. I get that they want you to go at a certain pace. But atleast have the doors make a locked sound to acknowledge that your soldier is capable of opening doors.

- How devs say things like "your character isn't a supersoldier", yet the only difference between him and Master Chief is he takes 2 bullets less to kill. Or the "it's nit just you mowing people down with a mini gun" one, yet, after about a hour of that its suddenly "get on the turret and kill a small army of guys". I'm looking at you Homefront

- How a every major action needed to be done by a squad of highly trained soldiers is always assigned to the player character (who is usually the new guy).

- Silent protagonists. I haven't played much Half-Life, but I'm sure it works there. Bt how does it make sense that the most relied on member of the squad (see the above point) doesn't say a word in the middle of combat.

People who think that they are awesome because they can snipe. it doesnt make you a badass. just a coward.
ouch.I'll agree about that in most modern shooters, but have you seen the sniper rifle in bulletstorm? Wait, is bulletstorm categorized as a modern shooter?
