So, I recently picked up Modern Warfare 2. I have been playing if for about 3 weeks now, and I am ranked 35 or something, I don't really pay attention to that. So, I figure I'm about experienced enough to write a guide. (Not like this is going to be hard, the online is so painfully easy it hurts.)

If you want to be your standard assult gunner heres what you do:
1. put stopping power on (if you feel like being a real pro)
2. get a SCAR now go camp in a corner somewhere and wait until you unlock the heartbeat sensor, don't worry it wont take long
3. now attach the heartbeat sensor to your SCAR go sit in the corner until you are able to get the 1887 secondary weapon shotguns
4. run your ass around the map killing people with those things from 30 or more feet away with akimbo/ side note if you wish attach a sniper scope on them, trust me it will be useful

Now, for you snipers out there:
1. get the barret
2. put on stopping power and whatever else you want
3. run around the map with ACOG scope until you unlock thermal scope and heartbeat sensor
4. put bling on and put both of these attachments on
5. and dont forget to have your secondary guns be shotguns since apparently they arent overpowered enough to be a primary

If you do these games you are not ready for absolutely anything the game can throw at you.

Now that you have done all these things, please take your disc, snap it in half, and then light it on fire if you fall into the above class descriptions.

edit: due to some one pointing this out i would like to mention this as well

So, you have decided to reject being an asshole and putting everyone elses fun under your k/d ratio, well we have a class for that to:

1. get marathon lightweight and commando
2. try and get a care package
3. run around at absurd speeds and knife the entire other team
4. if you cannot get a care package just get a pistol that has tactical knife on it
5. turn off the game and go play a game of swords on halo because that is what you just created

I would also like to mention this thread is going better than I expected, being that the moderators have raped my face about it............yet.

edit again: I would like to address one of the more valid points of the 1887s. "They are suppose to be the most powerful shotguns" said a person who was so epic and awesome I forget his name. That's good and all but heres the thing: you either have shotguns suck and be a secondary gun, or you have them be good and a primary gun. As it stands shotguns have been tweaked enough to be a very good selection and completely worthy of being a primary weapon. And is anyone else sick of trying to flank a sniper then by UAV, heartbeat sensor, or whatever he turns around and just blows you away with those things?

Not really much room for discussion in here, but it's some sound enough advice. Although, I do warn against using the 1887s, since they are extremely cheap.

this was intended to be satirical, as in:

do this to really piss everyone off and ruin the game

...But those are actually good strategies. Does it matter if you piss people off? They've still got their disadvantages, besides the 1887s. If this was a joke, you have a terrible sense of humor.

ah yes what i was waiting for

so, you think that its fun to grab a heartbeat sensor and sit in the corner eh?

do you think its fun for other people when you do that? or do you just not care and instead are only concerned with your k/d?

Well, my strategy is actually to use the TAR-21 Holographic in conjunction with a USP .45 Tactical Knife and Marathon Pro, Commando Pro, and Lightweight Pro, so I don't know if it's fun for people when I do that, because I don't.

Now, I play almost every day, and almost every day I see people occasionally attempt to camp, whether with a heartbeat sensor or thermal scope, and you know what happens to them? They get killed by experienced players who know the maps well enough to check sniper positions as they run by. Sure, a camper will get some kills with their hiding spot, but they're eventually going to get snuffed.

Because every combination of weapons and perks have their own disadvantages, I have no problems with any of the methods people use to play the game, except for boosting. That's just bad.

Once again, an entire generation of camping douchebags with op'ed crap made into a parody. Well done. I believe you can make some additions to your guide though, sir. What about the whole kamikaze lightweight and commando people with tac knives?

I am humbled by your undeniable sense of humor, but I do believe the Internet will shun you here in about 5 minutes.

My previous post labels you as such: Marathon + Lightweight + Commando = Go die in a fire.

In simple man's terms... We don't like it when you use that.

mind inviting me to these games because i dont think we are playing the same game

and even what you said doesnt add up: if they have a heartbeat sensor it doesnt matter whether the player checks or not they still are going to know they are there

and what do you mean occasionally attempt to camp in every game is seems that there is about 3 or more people who are just hanging out

Well, I play on the PS3 for one. Much smaller community. Of course someone with a heartbeat sensor is able to see people, but campers are easy to spot as well. Staying in one spot for longer than a few seconds is a bad idea, and so they end up dead whether they can see danger coming or not.

@QuidProQuo: I'm sorry my people have shown you hardships in the past, but running around knifing is so fun. At least we're easy to kill!

In simple man's terms? The guy is running into people with fully automatic weapons with just a knife. There is nothing more manly than that besides a steak that gives you beard growing powers.

Heh, just the other day, I was playing a friend's online account, doing cage match, and some guy tells me (We're in terminal, mind you.) "Come to the plane." I ask, being naive, "Why?". The response: "So I can shoot you in the head."
I then kicked his ass up one side and down another, and to piss him off, hid in the burger shot for the last minute and a half.
If it makes you win, do it. (Other than boosting.)

that may be true, but your tactic often makes people play in the categories mentioned in the beginning posts. I also don't like that tactic because I believe the idea of HALO SWORD LUNGING was taken.

Hmm, I never really thought about us causing campers. Honestly, though, campers are even easier to take out with that. Half the time they don't watch their backs, and if you approach from the front, you can waste them before they have time to respond. That kind of eliminates the problem.

Though from a philosophical standpoint that you have, please refer to post 16 in the capitalized region. MW2 can be a very close quarter oriented game, believe it or not. The maps that do rely on room to room action always have a quarter or so of the players using commando, which equals instant kills, further made easier with tac knives, lightweight, and marathon. The maps that are spaced out, on the other hand, no one uses the method.

With PLENTY of personal experience I can say assault rifles do absolutely no good when up against those players in short distances. Trust me.

Have you ever tried rushing a player who has 1887s in a corner? With practically only a simultaneous pull of both triggers taking a smaller amount of time that it takes to blink? Not generally a good idea.

Actually, yes, I don't suggest it. That's why I shoot from afar if I'm approaching from the front. The only thing in the entire game I consider cheap is, in fact, the Model 1887s. Their power, range, and reload speed are absolutely insane, not to mention having two of them.

Like I said, I'm a PS3 player. I'm not sure if you all play on XBL, but, if so, the PS3 community is a lot different. You see very little camping, a lot less competition, and people very rarely use weapons like the 1887s.
